So after some consideration, I was thinking about making a hydro setup. I have all the knowledge I could possibly need to build one except one key element; nutrients. I haven't found any indepth guides on the subject yet and was wondering if anyone had any info or guides to it. I know the basics obviously. You want a half-strength solution for the first few weeks of vegatative growth and then when the plants are healthy and stable enough, you put them on a full growth solution. I just have no idea what the mix compound would be like. Not sure on the ratios(obviously there will be directions on the bottles themselves), but I really have no idea what nutrients would be ideal for a first time hydro grower. I have a lot of knowledge on how to build an adequate hydro room after lots of research and first-hand knowledge. I have just never seen any guides explain nutrients in depth or really asked anyone about it because I never thought I'd switch my grow style.
i've noticed alot of hydro growers like advanced nutrients. Tho, i have no first hand experience with hydro nutes...so i can't be much of help here. You can check out some hydro journals over at icmag.com or hg420.com, that match the style of hydro your using. good luck.
Yeah I was looking at Advanced Nutrients for awhile because of the good things I hear about their customer support. Other than that, thanks a LOT for those sites. Completely forgot ICMag had a grow forum. Found a lot of answers so far. Hopefully I'll be posting my grow soon.
ha!! FLORA NOVA, thats the one i couldn't think of.....been driving me nuts for the past few days. Just too lazy to go find out
If the Nova series is the one I am thinking of - be careful what system you use it with. That stuff is THICK you have to shake it like a mofo and if is not sealed tight - let the mfs begin. If you do use it with a drip system just keep an eye out for clogs. GH 3 part system is really nice. Go to their web site and you will find pdfs for application which are needed. PH down - buy for sure 1 ml per gal to drop from pH 7 to ~ pH 6.0 (su).
Thanks a lot for all your suggestions. Been researching all sorts of different nutrients and ratios to use them at. Now I just need to do some opinionated research on the nutrients I am interested in. Thanks a ton guys, you helped a lot.
I like the Lucas formula for GH 3 part flora series...I use a meter and keep ph at 5.8 or so and ppm at or below 800...
