I couldn't agree with you more. We have the WHOLE world to experience, people to love, things to see, and wisdom to empart and have emparted upon us. I mean imagine being an entity watching a human for a day. The human sits on a couch....in the same position....for hours at a time.......staring at a moving picture that has no relevance to our lives.......swarming with fascist ad campaigns for pointless crap..........media used to scare and manipulate..........and that's it....What. The. Flying. Fuck. Is. Wrong. With. Us???
I'd say for the most part it's because people are tired after a long day at work or school, serriously I bet people in Somalia would love the comfort of being able to come home at 5 every day and just be able to sit down and watch tv for hours.
Salvation will be here on earth (not in heaven) as all the self righteous conformist competitive breeders who base their notion of reality on Britney Spears’ bra size and the Simpson’s discover that their fat asses are hanging on a limb that has detached itself from the tree of life. The rapture will be celebrated by those who are left! Our I’s are blinded by the incessant drone of me, my, mine and we no longer see our divine interconnections with Mother Nature. Slice, dice, plunder, pillage…the true American ethic. The nature in human nature is Mother Nature and the mother of nature is the garden.
i addictide to t.v. but there are still some channels i don't like to watch, like the news even though our government believes in freedom of speach the only let it go so far and the new is only telling us what they want us to hear, my dads friend worked in the air force or somthing and she was telling us all about how there are wars going on in this world that you don't know about and never will know about
True, we do have it good her. Being able to come to our warm home and relax and forget our troubles in a family guy episode or so called "reality" tv. But at the same time it is the main object of universal stupidity. Nobody can argue that the tele is what's dumbing down our society.
I'll admit I watch a lot of TV. But then I think the TV I do watch benefits me. I watch a whole lotta sci-fi, my friends. Yes, I'm talking Star Wars and Star Trek and Stargate: SG1, amidst the sea of many-a-title-a-Biida-does-like. These shows all make for great conversation pieces as well as being a big booster for my imagination. And as a stoner and an artist, I've come to appreciate my imagination. Come on. Tell me how bad I am.
TV is alot like a gun. It's not that the TV itself is dangerous or bad, it's the person using it. I don't watch much TV anymore. Back before we had the internet, I watched more, but with a computer, I control the content of what I want to see. I ignore the rest. TV has been displaced by a superior force. That itself is neither good or bad. Just more of the information you want to focus on. Because I don't have to waste my life in front of a TV, waiting for the commercials to get over with, I have more time to tap into the information superhighway. My way. After I've had my fill of high velocity info feed, I have more time to go off and do other things. The idea is to balance whatever is on your plate. If you can't, you'll be a miserable person no matter the circumstances. x
this has been an good read, but the game starts in a minute so I gotta go watch..... peace, jeffarty:
Ya TV hurts my head a bit. I have a TV to play videos, but no cable or channels connected to it. I like that. Doesnt mean i cant get sucked into the internet! lol
I suggest you open your windows first. It isn't strictly TV- it's the choice that its viewers make. The tube delivers and people watch. It's up to us whether or not it influences our lives. Is the O.P. offering an alternative avenue of conformity? Surely if one follows his word they are conforming as much as they would to the seductive messages broadcast to them via the airwaves. Each person choose your own path and take responsibility for it. Television, internet, and all other manner of entertainment is neither good nor evil. How each individual chooses to handle it makes it what it is. You can't shelter children from everything. Maybe it's best to measure exposure to things and help a young person practice responsible usage and develop the ability to measure their television and internet.... and separate what they see on either screen from real life. Being told how to think and to avoid a potential evil without reasoning for ourselves what is proper is just as much conformity as allowing the boob tube to brainwash us.
it realy is'nt ur choice, wat they do on t.v secretly manipulates u into doing wat the government wants you to do an example of that is when they put a product of somthing in a t.v. show human nature natualy wants that product because it is being used by people on t.v.
talk to friends meditate go plant a tree read a book make something write a song listen to music write a play write a poem join an organization anything on this gigantic green earth!!!
:agree: You meet some great people on here. People that share your ideas and in turn you will learn from them about life, love, and everything in between
Bender Doodad, why are you telling everyone what to do. It really isn't big or clever of you. No doubt you have been alowed to stay up late and are showing off.
