Amsterdam Shutting Down Red Light District Prostitute Windows!

The city of Amsterdam is shutting down 1/3rd of all its Red Light District prostitute windows. Mayor Job Cohen has been pushing this in an effort to remove the "shady" elements who reinforce the criminal milieu which has always been part of the RLD.

I sure hope this improves the situation, but I doubt it will. At least they chose to remove the one landlord who never could provide a proper accounting of his income. That sleezebag was supposedly turning a blind eye to human trafficking.

So now they can redevelop the old decaying buildings into a shopping district and more business real estate... Yeah, right...

Sorta like what the Danish have planned for Christiania, no?

However it'll probably be the youngest, prettiest as those are the ones most likely who were part of the illegal/unreported/undocumented trade.

 

Let's not forget France's Sarkosy! He's the new NAPOLEAN! Short ppl have BIG fucking egos, and spend their lives trying to compensate for their "short-comings"...

Actually Mayor Job Cohen who ordered the windows shutdown (and sold - for big profit, no doubt), is a pretty cool guy. He's tried to stand up to the conservative national gov't, and I think this action will probably be good in the long run, allowing prostitution to continue, but better regulated, and with fewer sleezy pimps!

If he had moved to shutdown ALL prostitution, that would be another story altogether.

But man, those remaining hookers/windows are gonna do a LOT MORE business! Perhaps that was the goal after all. Now a smaller group of rich Dutchmen, get to be even richer!

I wonder what the Prostitute Guild thinks of all this...
