I am originally from Calgary and I pronounce it Calg-ry. I notice people around here (MB) say Cal-gary. Now which do you say and why? Which is correct I.Y.O? Cowboys say Calg-ry no? Easterners say Cal-gar-y. Please respond to the poll ....
Holy Crap! Someone acutally *from* Calgary! Been here almost two months and everyone I've run into has been from just about everywhere else. Depends on how east ya go. I say it Cal-gar-y but when I got my Cape Bretoner voice on, it's definately Calg'ry. Sorta reminds me of Tor-on-to and T'ronna ( I mention this 'cause I know how much Albertans like to be compared to Ontario. LoL )
cal-guh-ry, with teh guh beinga much shortened part of hte word, sometimes shortens more and is just calgry
