Am I the only person here...

I like The Cure, The Smiths and other probably Emotionally distressing music but I'm not carving anything into my ass with a razor for any reason.

 

*nods* i knew those kids, most of them were my friends. i just didn't get the angst. they were freaking rich, their parents were good to them and no one in the house was an alcoholic and prone to hitting. yet they all ended up on prozac. maybe we make kids lives TOO EASY.

 

There were quite a lot of rich kids with emotional problems when I had to go to see the psychologist as a teenager Maybe it's because they had no REAL problems(alcoholism, domestic violence, poverty) to deal with and needed to fill the 'Life is Shit' category that teenagers seem to love spending hours talking about.

I dunno. But I sure remember there being a lot more 'posh' kids there than normal kids.

 

yeah. i'd go to my friends' houses, spend time with their families, and even when they were fighting it was still so mild and easy. i don't doubt that they somehow were suffering, simple chemical imbalance, hormones, whatever. it just seemed to me that if we switched homes for a while they wouldn't bitch so much.

 

What the hell am I going to do when I have teenage kids one day?
