i take lortab and am going to dr in country where they don't know what hydrocodone is. from researching the internet, it appears that dihydrocodeine is the same chemically as hydrocodone but i had one prescription of dhc and it was not near as strong, nor did it take the pain away from my blown out knee. i've heard df's are the thing in this country. are those the same as the dhc. how could this country not have hydrocodone avail....that's just wrong.

Hydrocodone is, on one chemical basis, exactly the same as hydrocodone, but in another sense, its bioavailibility is MUCH less, meaning that no matter how much you take, your body isn't able to absorb the active chemicals to the degree you'd need to get you high. I've never heard of a "df". what does that stand for?

df-118. I've heard it's supposed to be the same....but people here have mentioned taking these as well...just googled df118 and it appears that it is the same as dhc.... i wouldn't mind the dhc if it actually helped the pain but oddly enough it doesn't so i'll just have to wait. Thanks a lot for the info....found out more from you than from the doctors and pharmacists here in the last 6 months. Thanks!

yes...you got it. dr ended up prescribing oxynorm - 10 mg for a while .... which is oxycodone IR capsules...they were good but still....miss the selection in the US. and was shocked that they would give me morphine-based stuff instead of hydrocodone. but it was all good while it lasted. going back to US soon....thank goodness!!!!
