A 70-year old widow and grandmother was arrested by police for failing to maintain her yard. When she was taken to the police station, however, the woman was bloodied and bruised. According to CNN "there was a struggle..." which coincidentally led to a brutal "fall". Now I don't know about you but I couldn't imagine my grandmother thinking she'd be able to take out the police. I suspect that this is just one of many recent examples of police sadism... I could only find this on CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/19/lawn.dispute.ap/index.html PB
Not only is it police abuse, it is also legislative abuse. Why should anyone be arrested for not watering their lawn? But to think anyone would treat a 70 year old woman that way is terribly sad.
Charges should be pressed against him. Police shouoldn't get away with this crap, if he was just a regular guy who happened to have a struggle that left an elderly woman bruised and bleeding he would have had charges against him. Same thing should apply! Someone needs to fix this shit
Unbelievable. Just who allowed that legislation to pass, do they also control how high you cut your grass? Perhaps that police department doesn't have anything else to do, maybe they should offer their services in free lawn care for the elderly.
