I thought about recycling paper and plastic and the whole 9 yards, but then I thought about it and the only thing I can recycle is cans because I cant think of anywhere around here for anything else. Does anyone know of somewhere in North Alabama to recycle all of that stuff?

www.earth911.org should have tons of resources and places near you. Just type your zip code and they'll come up!

you could also check your county's webpage and they will tell you the days, times, etc for recycling and what they accept and don't accept.

I grew up in northern Alabama. Primative thinking is why I left.

Now, you're 15, right? Why not organize something at your school? It could even raise a little money for them if done correctly.

There's money in garbage. We've known about it here in the west coast for years, but the rest of the country is just waking up to this fact. Set the example yourself.

Don't think about change, BE the change.

    Good luck.

Yeah, I agree with xexon but 'tis a shame that more counties don't adopt recycling programs. In South Dakota and other midwestern states you have to PAY to recycle...it's not a part of the sanitation program.
