You can just ignore my post-but I felt doing a little shouting =)

Years ago I worked For The emergency services as a medic. No money but man what a job! Always missed it... Long story short, I got into Data Center operations(places that contain servers like the one this site is on) and started chasing the dollar - I was miserable, felt like I wasnt making a differance. pretty much just wasting my life away making money for other people who care about themselves and no one else.

60-80 hours a week of my life every week for nothing.

For years my wife has been saying quit - do what makes you happy - we dont need the money. ( yeah, she is the best )

Well, I DID IT!!!!!!!!!! I just walked away from it, Told my manager I'm leaving and not coming back...... All he could say was "your going to give up 85,000 a year to work on an ambualnce"? I said yup! He had nothing else to say.

I start my classes in two weeks should be back on the Ambulance in a few months. by Next year I'll be a medic again! - I havent felt this alive in years!

OK - I'm done you can go on with your lives now =)

    congrats on following your heart.
Funny how people will get hung up on the money you are exchanging for Lifehours, eh?
here's hoping you have the cushion to keep the roof, food and light going!

Top notch! Glad you got out of the grind. My husband just did something similar last year. The money job was eating his soul.

Great !!! I have also been playing with the idea of leaving the office where I basically am just waiting for death and making a few bucks.. I have always wanted the currage of doing something similar to what you have just acheived.
I need a new taste to my life !!

Ignore? This is the greatest thing a person could do for himself and his surroundings! Yet too many people don't dare to make that step. I think everybody should read this :)

When I quit my job caddying for rich people at the country club, I did something excet the man I had to tell I was quitting, I had never met before and when I came in he was really mad cuz he was wicked busy so I started al scared cuz he looked like Marlon Brando in the Godfather, but then I realized I'm never gonna see him again and told him I quit very matter-of-factly, I had nothing aginst this guy, but it still felt good

good for you, quitting something u hate is always fun
