Has anyone ever seen a bearcat? At least that is what we thought we saw up in New Hampshire late one night on a country road. The road was quite, dark and lonely that night. Did I say night it was more like morning. In the early morning something was creeping along side the road somewhere outside of Hooksett, NH.
Just wondering if I was half asleep and dreaming or if what I saw was a bearcat. Most likely I wasn't dreaming b/c my wife also saw it.

Anyone have a clue what we saw?

Probably a fisher, my sister lives in NH and she sees them occasionally.

What on earth is a bearcat? I looked it up and there is such an animal (which isn't a bear or a cat) but it's native to Asia.

In New England there are wild cats and wild bears and "fisher cats" which are neither, but I don't know what a person would mean by the term "bearcat".

It musta been a fishercat. I'm just a southern hippie and had never seen anything like that down here. It was kinda spooky at 1:00am to see such a sight along side of a lonely, desolate road outside of Hookset, NH. Thanks for the info.
    Peace and Love!!!
