Only growing a couple plants from seeds

I live in a small one bedroom apt. and was wondering what would be the easiest way to only grow maybe 4 or 5 plants at the most. Most likely I will start with a couple seeds I have found in my bags over time since I dont want to invest in buying seeds in case I screw up or hafta abort because of landlord or such. This will be my first time growing indoor with lights-do I need something as big as 400wt or can I use something as small as a reptile light?

Any other tips for getting started with such a small setup will be much appreciated.

Til then I am gonna be buffing up on everything else seeing as most info contained in these threads deals with all the lighting issues and such.

#1 4-12 good black uncracked seeds free if your smart
#2 small pots # of seeds with roots stealable or 2 bucks each
#3 bag of top/potting soial scotts or miracle grow stealable 10-15 bucks
#4 watering can stealable 3 bucks
#5 ph tester under 10 bucks at wal mart (steal
#6 nutrients 15/20/15 nitrogen phosphouros potasium
#7 nutrients 20/30/20 or higher
#8 fertilizer
#9 insectacides
#10 organic garden random what ever shit use comon sense
#11 SEEDS from good weed buy em or just have them (if u go them from the weed u wanna grow good) to germinate put em in wet paper towel
for 3 days or until they get 1/2 inch roots so get some paper towel wet it add seeds cover em wait and place it ina jar in the dark

things we all must do!
germinate seeds plant them in permanent soil 1/2 inch in ground in containers then plant in spot 3-5 atleaste sunlight morning light=better
first or second set of leaves add to ground water the plants when dirt is dry when 6-7 nodes of leaves apear add fertilizer phphousers nitrogen potasium 20/20/20 works or w.e then sex the plants the ones with balls are dudes ones with pistils little dicks are gals kill the dudes and lets the gals grow DONT ALLOW MOLD add insectacides to plants after raining *lightly apply* fertilize 3-4 weeks maybe a week sooner quanitly and quality is a must know but dont over due it its cruetial to bud growing the correct fertilizer light and water they will grow 2 whole inches a day
bigger and BETTER BUD Should symptoms of a deficiency arise, check the Nutrient Table for identification and a cure. Be careful not to over fertilize now cheack the ph level it should be a little lower then when first planted if lower then 6.2 water with wood ashes till it regians to 6.5 ph testers are less then 10 dollars at wal mart at around this stage roots dry out and become hard to absorb nutrients so foliar feeding is good its spray on nutrients using it means u must cut down on fertilizer to half mass this is just after vegative stage witch is after sexing and a little growing foliar feeding spray in a spray bottle set to finest spray spray at 5-9 pm average when buds opening and mist do not drench feed mthen the solution twice a week but just mist it on the day after it is feed water the plant to get rid of any exsese spray for some strands pruning is now necesary to keep plants better hidden and better branching cut branches to allow bud braches to grow more weed more godo times used sterile SHARP knifes or scisors never remove more then 6 inches from this spot it will become 2 branches 6 inches will be replaced with 12 and double bud so do it bitch when your plant buds dont spray any chemicals such as insecticides fertilizers unless organic dont add light any light to your plant at darkness stage it sends plants back to vegatative stages when flowering starts cut down fertilizer to a maximum of one quarter of the mass you have been using phosphorous is what your buds are so get the strongest phosphorous u can 15/30/15 is good or 20/40/20 is also good but high phosphorous is the best at 1/4 strength if needed at all now once ur buds are showing and growing rapidly and pistils are 3 quarters brown and resighn is showing but buds fully matured harvest her but to check use a magnifine glass to see if the resighn on leaves is amber if its white u have another week or so to go dont worry feed her and treat her nice big buds nmatured is good brown resighn is bad get it at an amber then its harvest time the bigger lower leaves should be removed then and there bring back packs 1 to 6 plants is good paper bags for branches and air freshner for your back pack when the plants are safe in your home place the buds and high resighn thc leaves and full plant in rubber made containers in the complete dark plants with mold should be dryed or micro waved stir containers around once per day or two after 3 weeks of drying and no mold apears remove low resighn thc leaves and now after a week te stems are bittle snap them with your fingers and smoke the bigest 6 buds u find if your not ripped then fuck you. dont waste my time this is idoit proof

a good, cheap method is to buy 6 cool white/daylight CFL's and 6 warm white ones (23w type). find a pywood board and fasten on 8 light sockets. wire up a timer.

to veg use 6 cools and 2 warm. to flower use 6 warm and 2 cools. this will provide a decent yield from 3-4 plants. (expect 1-3oz for the first try)

this is the heart of your grow, and the rest (filter, fans, co2, light reflectors) can be found cheap/free if frugal. the light rig will cost 30-50$ depending on the price of the CFLs.

PS: keep thereceipts. i fin that 1/3 CFLS doesnt work/stops working within the first week. after that theyre usually long lasting. (but be ready to exchange a few)

 

This may sound like a stupid question but Ive been trying to figure out how to start my garden veggies early. I was wonder do you think this setup would be just as effective on the garden variety plants.

 

I've always had problems with the cool white 6500k cfl seems fine till the plants get too within a foot of them then the light burn the leafs. maybe to much blue i think.
BURNT. Should grow any plant but you may have to bring them out slowly so they get used to the change in light and temp.

 

yeah, itll work great on veggies. i even grew some terragon in the wasted reflected light (where i had no pot plants).

ive experience NO burning, and keep the plants within 2-4 inches of the lights. granted, if the plants make any contact with the bulb, they will take slight damage and be temporarily stunted for a day or two.

 

Could really do with some extra blue as it goes but its probably the cheap eco bulbs i buy coz others dont have that problem.
Your be suprised now days what plants are grow under or have lighting to extend there growing day.

 

I was kinda worried about that, but I will make the transition slow to the outdoors.

I cannot even follow the numbered steps. I'd probably get a headache trying to read further. I am interested in reading this but you need to reorganize this. It's very messy!
