I am studying whether uncut men can fully retract their foreskins, and if so, at what age they could first do it.

For those who cannot retract, please indicate if you have had any problems as a result, such as infections underneath the foreskin, smelly smegma (the cheesy -like substance which is secreted at the back of the glans), problems with the frenulum (the stringy thing in the inverted "V" on the underside of the glans (head), and problems during intercourse or masturbation, such as pain or loss of sensitivity. Also indicate, if you will, what country you are from, and if a doctor has ever recommended circumcision.

Umm...I must be blessed with loose skin or something. But I am uncut and when erect you can't even hardly tell I have that extra skin. I do have a rather large penis, and havent ever had problems with the skin being tight or not retracting. I love being uncut, but I do feel for some of the other uncut guys out there for the extreme turtle neck they have going on. The uncut issue was one I used to worry about being different about but now I savor it.

    Much love

pull harder! Hey cutter, you're some busy guy, surveying 4skin behavior, making an erotic movie about ancient loveins, joining in forum gossip, participting in circumcision discussions. Wow! How's you love life? Do you pulish your study conclusion in a scholarly journal? And when's your movie debut?

Fastswitch - I am a filmmaker and lay sex therapist. I have helped many young men and couples grappling with sexual issues. These threads are interesting because they allow people to open up with their sexual problems and concerns anonymously. And they have real concerns, and hopefully the discussions they stimulate about their problems will be helpful to them, and others, in resolving them.

Regarding filmmaking, I am primarily a documentary filmmaker and investor in others' films, but I think there is a need for a film about a young man's emerging sexuality which is done with sensitivity and class, without being pornographic. Most porno films have terrible plots and bad acting, and are usually just excuses to show "suck and fuck". "The After Midnight Scholar" will be a film which should ring true to many viewers, especially young men just starting to understand their own sexuality. Along with a strong, emotional story (the script is done) it will be instructional, hopefully allowing viewers to take something away from the film which will be useful in their own love life.

The film will have graphic dialogue, and R-rated visuals, different from most films of this genre. But romance is often better if something is left to the imagination rather than showing it all. Seeing it in your head is much better than having it smack you in the face on the screen. I expect to shoot the film next summer, but obviously the most important thing is to get the two main actors in place as soon as possible. I have quite specific needs, and I am not sure there is anyone out there who would want to be part of this film project, but I thought that if there is, I would find them on this thread.

And since you asked, my own love life is great. My girlfriend and I make love at least once a day, and have for the past two+ years. She says I am "off the charts". So is she.

Thank you for responding. I don't think a study has ever been done on this subject, and it may be useful in the future to doctors and sex therapists. Please offer your personal information on this topic.

From the poll so far, it is clear that many guys cannot retract until they are teenagers, and some (perhaps 15-20%) can never retract unless they are able to stretch it or resort to circumcision. Most guys who can't retract live with it, but they don't know what they are missing. It's like shaking hands with a glove on.

I have a issue, when soft, I can fully pull it back.

When hard, I can't fully pull it back. I did it once, but I pulled back too far and now I have two lines on my penis. I don't even know how to fix it.

Kaze Yo - you have a condition called Phimosis - the inability to retract your foreskin over the glans. You stretched the skin on the foreskin too much trying to do it. The remedies are as follows:

    1. Try to gently pull your foreskin back when erect, using a hydrocortisone cream, after you have left it alone for a week or so, giving it a chance to heal. Take a hot bath first before you put the cream on your glans and the underside of your foreskin and then very gently pull it back. The complete retraction will not happen all at once, but should take a month or so to allow your foreskin to stretch so it can retract fully.

    2. At age 15, some guys are not able to fully retract their foreskins due to a short frenulum (the stringy thing in the "inverted v" on the underside of the glans) or other skin attachments on the underside of the foreskin. These things naturally resolve themselves by the time you are older. But you say you have two "lines" on your foreskin, which seems to indicate excessive stretching of the foreskin is the problem.

    3. If the procedure in 1 above does not work, consult a doctor about whether a circumcision is necessary.

By the time you are having intercourse, you should have this problem fixed, as you will have more enjoyment of sex if you get it fixed.
