I never had a cheesesteak in my life even before my veggie days and I live in a city where people take pride in their cheesesteaks...lol Well I was walking around downtown Philly to drop stuff off for work and I passed a veggie cheesesteak place. Some of my veggie friends told me about this place, but I never went there. I got a veggie cheesesteak with soy cheese. It tasted soooo good. I'm in the process of weaning off of cow's cheese. It's a slow process, but the cheese on this cheesesteak was amazing, so i have some motivation..LOL Anyone ever have a veggie cheesesteak before?
Morningstar Farms makes a veggie cheesesteak. It's okay but nothing to write home about. Maybe I'll have to try the one in Philly sometime. Kathi
Philly has lots of great veggie/vegan cheese steak places. i always get one when I'm in Philly. but they are all made on the same grill as regular steaks.... not that i care but some do.
The place I went to doesn't sell any meat products and I don't remember the name of it. All I know is that it's on Broad street.
I've never had the MSF Cheesesteak. I didn't know they made it. But I would imagine that the egg would be irrelevant since it would probably contain dairy cheese. The best way to make a Vegan Cheesesteak out of MSF products would be to use steak strip meal starters, and those are Vegan. Unfortunately, I think pretty much all the Vegan "cheeses" out there suck, but Follow your Heart at least melts.
