LSD, as I see it, is basically unneccessary. I have tripped on a variety of psychedelics and I just don't see that point of acid. All it does is present us with the undeniable fact that the universe is infinitely complex and that we are nothing more than varying condensations of molecules, etc... I personally have realized this with two acid trips, and I have come to the conclusion about the futility of it all! Sure, you can trip a zillion times and it might be great every time..but in the end what are you doing with it? I feel that that LSD causes more problems than it creates. Sure acid can be positive, and it can show you an infinite sea of possibilities. But in the end, the point is to tap into your mind, realize your abilities, and then utilize them as to make your life exciting, enjoyable, and pleasurable. And no one really needs psychedelics to do this. Just my two cents.
if all we are is a complex set of molecules then what is the point in not doing psychedelics... why not if there is no point. enjoy yourself while you can in what ever way you see fit
I agree aronius, but I think that LSD can be a good tool one can utilize to get a jump start into breaking through a few layers of maya {cosmic delusion} and revealing for oneself that possibilities you speak of. It's not how often you trip, or how many times, it's what you get from it and how you handle your new found realizations in your present moment and future. -
Another thing, and this is purely based on personal opinion, but magic mushrooms enabled me to break through many layers, after many trips, but one in particular revealded to me invoulantarily the entire breadth and scope of the sylabyll Om, and put me on a constant search to realize God through yoga and meditative practices. Psychedelics were admittedly feeling very empty and as if lacking much of something untouchable for me for a number of years, but after I discovered God, that 'something' became that 'everything', but it's all too much and at times overwhelming. Just my perception on the matter, my opinion really and I only wanted to throw this out there for you to think about. Good luck, I hope you find some level of closure for you want of satisfaction.
Well I guess you could say it primarily consists of what you look for when you take acid, not everybody uses it for the mental effects, as far as I'm concerned a good amount of people I know don't even consider that, they just like the hallucinogenic effects. If you are trying to say it makes us realizes our lives are meaningless in a big universe that surrounds us, why would it matter anyway?
If your gonna think of things like this, then whats the point of taking any drug? I think everyone has their own reasons, and opinions on why they are taking a drug. Theres really no "necessary" part in taking anything. Its not necassary for me to smoke weed everyday, but I still do because I'm in the oppurtunity (and i also love weed).
is use acid to further the power over my mind, especially the power of mind over body as well as ego kill.
thats like asking someone why they prefer a stick of celery to a twinkie. people use the time they have in life on LSD because thats what they choose to do with there time occasionaly. i sure as hell dont mind giving up 12 hours of my life for a trip
I'm sure every acid head will first of all try and ask "well what is neccessary?" The reason I thing LSD is neccessary: It is AMAZING!!!! I coudl leave it at that but let me ellaborate, it feel great, it inspires, it sharpens all the senses, enhances yoru mind and emotions, helps people connect to others and to their own needs and desires. See things in a different light. Elucidate and examine yet unchartered mental territory. LSD unlocks aspects of an individuals mind. I relaise it can become repetitive and hence for some predictable. But it is really a reflectioon of the beholder. Some people really trully IMO never need to touch acid, some get all they need from one or a few uses and some get things form it for the rest of their lives. Also what you consider the point to be is not what all people consider it to be. As for LSD causing more problems than it creates. this is true for some but not all IMO. There are some people in my life who do not know I've done and love LSD and I know if i could give them the Gift that LSD has given to me it would improve their lives immesureably. Maybe another pointless point. But its a chemical that most defnitely has its uses and if still used by psychologists I think it woudl help many people. (but definitely not all) my two cents.
to think that someone could actually figure LSD out in two trips is ridiculous. you are so sure of yourself with so little experience. LSD has done a lot more for me then what you think it does. my first few trips were nothing special but as i continued my trips changed as i did. and what is the point of this thread? are you trying to get us to somehow snap out of our denial...? what a good person you must consider yourself to be...lol.
... life is full of learning and growing! every day of your life you will be learning(sometimes the same thing over and over again as you deny). LSD can enhance this process especially when used with this purpose in mind! aronius: there is no way that at 25 years of age you have life all figured out. do you actually think that you have it all figured out?
^^^ In addition to the above post. LSD makes you FEEL like you understand everything. It just does. And perhaps, maybe on a thumbprint dose the feeling reaches a belief. But due to that "Feeling" I feel many people do go off the rails. Like the guy who thinks teh world is going to end in a few years on one of the other posts. You shoudl remember that LSD is a fine candidiate for delusion and that any feeling that you inderstand everything (somehting that happens to me always!!! hahaha!) is induced bythe drug. It can help you understand everythign you need to. As teh answers IMO are within all of us. But some people can very easily be misguided by themselves due to various reasons. And surely one of the main answers everyone should find is that NO ONE knows anything in any real philosophical sense.
What's the point? If I tell you what's the point, you would probably tell me that I am crazy. Keep taking it and you will see what's the point hahaha
