I am growing organically and have a pretty good compost in my opinion. So my question is do I need to feed them anything additional during the Flowering Stage or just water? My main ingredient is worm castings.. like half of my medium.. The rest is crushed egg shells, grass clippings..
Do not feed your plant with Miracle-Gro and such, this will cause nutrient burns, which is when the nutrients form salts on the roots, resulting affect is brittle, dry, dead leaves, overall unwell looking.
^You can you MG if you need to, but not at full strength and only if there really and true is no way to get better nutes. http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=26419 ^That guy uses MG. I would never, but I guess if you have that much going on it makes things much simpler Anyway, don't feed you plants until they tell you that they need to be fed. IE, until the leaves start to show nute defs, atleast for the first run anyway.
I really dont want to use any nutes.. I was thinking that I could feed them a Guano and Worm Castings soaked in water if they needed any more food.. I was thinking that with organics you dont have to feed them anything.. Its all in the compost right?
Well I am not a big fan of organics (no comments needed please) but if you keep the pot size relatively small (up to 2 gallons) for the veg period you could repot to a 3-4 gallon (going to be either trees or bushes by this point) using a soiless mix and use GH Flora Nova for flowering. My reasoning is your compost should be enough to feed for the first 4 weeks in while slowly being leached out into the soiless mix, the next 4 weeks the Flora Nova will boost the P & K for flower development - flush with plain pH adjusted water for at least two weeks prior to harvest. You can adjust the container size depending on space etc... but you get the general idea. That said - you really do not have to - I have seen grows that went full term with only veg nutes and were fine.
