Roy Buchanan was the best guitarist ever, in my opinion. He had a chance to join the Rolling Stones early on, and thank God he didnt, or else we may have never heard his great guitar playing. Just too bad the guy hung himself while in jail. What a talent we lost then.

Buchanan and Gatton are the two gods of the telecaster.
The Messiah Will Come Again is really just breathtaking.

It's really strange for me to see people listing Danny. My stepfather and him were best friends for years, until Danny killed himself. They designed the guitar that he makes and my stepfather still makes them as a business....they are really freaking expensive though.

Anyway, Danny freaking was amazing. We got to see him in so many settings...from bars to our own basement. But he really just loved to entertain his crowd. Too bad that he felt he wasn't appreciated and that the world would never see his talent....we lost an awesome musician the day he checked out.

That is so awesome that you knew him!! Wow, what memories you must have! It is so sad that this cruel world drives so many extremely talented people to self-destruct! It seems like the passion that I love in artists, is also what kills them. If only they could really understand what their music means to people, how it touches us!
