Well hello everyone and thank you for taking time to read this thread.

The first every "Turn on, Tune in, Drop out" Festival (In dedication to Timothy Leary) is happening in July of 2008 (Exact date TBA). We just got the permits and go ahead from the Baltimore City council (MD for those who don't know) so it is on!!!!

There will be live bands, plenty of music, dancing, food, love, and best of all....it's free!!!

I will post with more details as they develop. So be sure to keep subscribed to this thread for further info. :)

    GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!

We'd love to see ya'll there, tell your friends too. Were hoping for 1500 - 2000 people from all over the country (Because face it this is going to be an awesome event). We started looking into advertisements in the area (DC 101 and 98 Rock) but there is still alot of work that has to be done. I will post on here with more details as they develop :)

MD, eh? That beats trekking all the way to Tennessee for Bonnaroo. Though Bonnaroo is fucking massive <3

I'd like to know more about the festival. And how the hell you're managing to do this for free. That has me very interested right there, and the fact that it's a Timothy Leary festival =P

Well as of right now were still planning all the details of the festivities. As far as doing it for free that's where it hurts us......Ya see I figure why charge people money to come see this show.....Why??? I figure if someone's walking by and sees all the happy people and hears the wonderful music, they could come over and watch the show (for free, no one wants to pay for something they don't know about) grab a hotdog, drop some 'cid and change their life!! I mean that's kind of farfetched but come on it's probly happened before :) And I mean it's putting a HUGE burden on me financially but life isn't about money, it's about this moment!! And I have to put out ?$?$?$? for this so be it, it will be worth it! But were are putting it out there for donations on old sound equipment, speakers, mixers, the bands have their own equipment, I have some guitars/keyboards, and i mean the bands just want a gig to do and can play for thousands of people tripping balls having a great time outdoors!! And as far as Tim Leary.......He's the MAN!!!! That's why I have decided to dedicate this festival in memorial to him, and I believe his spirit will oversee this festival and smile down upon us and think the spirit of the 60s is still alive....................................Isn't life wonderful??

I really, REALLY hope you can go through with this. I think you and a bunch of friends should organize it and get it going. How many days? Where exactly is it going to be set up? A big field? I'm pretty sure I don't want to get arrested, so there had better be a lot of people XD. Getting permission from the city is one of the hardest parts. That's really cool that they said you could.

I really hope we can too. Everything has already been set in motion now it's just keeping that motion going. At first we were thinking a one day event than the more we talked about it we thought to make it a weekend thing (3 days, 2 nights) but until the budget is set, bands lined up, and all those factor in we can't really decide that just yet. We have several locations currently under consideration, there's 3 different Gunpowder State Falls locations in Baltimore and Harford County and Patterson Park in the city (We are trying to avoid the city police though because since baltimore city is the #1 heroine capital of the world they have very strict drug enforcment)....

And as fas as the Bands go, Auditions will Begin In February of '08 after some of the planning has been behind us (too much on our plate at once will just slow things down ya know and spiral out of control) But contact me then and I will set you up with all the info you will need.

    ~Peace~

how the fuck do you have permits and you dont even have a date or location?? somethin aint righ there man.. aint no city council in america gonna issue you a permit for a festival without a game plan.. they would need dates, and a location..

so, convince me the baltimore city council is a buncha hippie lovin "no sweat ,do what ya want, let us know whats up" kinda politicians....
