Aright i know the polls are not working but hopefully they will soon, im putting this poll up so i won't forget. So i am very fascinated about this subject and i would like to know what people think/believe. I personally believe in souls to the fullest extent but i don't think that we get to live on into another life. I think that when your life is over that you just don't exist anymore. I figure that its possible to live again in the distant future but it doesn't seem like it could happen, i just really really hope it could. I mean the chances of being born are so unlikely anyways, just think of all the possible people that could have been born instead of you its just mindblowing. So if this thread isn't alive when the polls start working than im going to bump it.
Imagine dipping a cup into the ocean and drawing some water from it. The ocean is God. The cup is your body. The water in the cup is your soul As long as you incarnate, you pour the water from one cup to another. When reincarnation is done, the water is poured back into the ocean. All individuality is reabsorbed back into the whole. x
That is a very interesting view on it! I like that idea alot but none of it seems possible to me. It feels like the harsh reality is lights out forever its just the best possible explanation. Everything else requires some mystical part to it, and to me, it just smells like bullshit.
The mind, which comes as a part of the package, creates the world you now identify with as a human. It forms a cocoon of "reality" around your perceptions. You live within this cocoon. This is the world you know as a human. You are unaware of the much larger reality outside of it. Any kind of spiritual path is an attempt to break out of this cocoon and rejoin the the greater whole. At some point in your personal evolution, you become aware that you are indeed inside of this cocoon. You then begin to gather the information to plan your escape from it. Your spiritual path has begun. What is mysticism but a brief glimpse outside the cocoon? You can try to explain what you've seen to others, but since they've not seen it themselves yet, they will call you a liar and a fool. Let them. Its just not their time yet, but it shouldn't hold you back from your own journey. x
I see people like xexon state things like this as fact all the time, but they never provide any proof.
Lool thats the thing there is never any "proof" thats why its such a trip. I just try to learn all i can and to be open minded but if my conscience is telling me something is likely to be bs than ima probly listen to it.
You're 15. What do you know of proof? It is not my responsiblity to provide you with anything. It is your responsibilty to find it for yourself, IF you have the drive to pursue it further. Only then, will you be certain. "Faith", will get you nowhere. x
And then the people I mentioned above respond to criticism with even more bullshit, but still no proof.
the proof is your own experience. stop wasting time doubting and try things out. search. xexon's just trying to relay some of that experience. take it or leave it, but at least respect the intent.
besides, if you want to confront him on dogma-discuss your view on each one of his points you don't agree with and logically explain why they are wrong. otherwise you're either making useless observations about his way of relaying information or dogmatic implied statements (about him being wrong) with no proof.
The thing is, what most people and science define as "proof" isn't always all "proof". Science, as we know it today, cannot prove the existance of a soul or anything of it's nature. The proof IS there, but not the kind of physical proof you are talking about. YOU need to go look for yourself, science or "proof" can't prove it to you. I was the same way as you, I followed my logic, just don't be ignorant.
