There's a bunch of rumors about this, but from what i've heard, in the 70s, some kids went to smoke after school at 4:20 every day. Maybe it was those guys from "That 70s Show".
The guys who created High Times Magazine all went to the same school, they would gather at 4:20 pm behind a statue on campus and blaze.
its a cop thing i think like if they found weed ort cought someone smokeing theyed be like, "ya, we gotta fo twenty"
it's from a bunch of kids in the 70s that called themselves the waldos from San Rafael California actually i couldn't find the info that said they were the waldos, i'm sure that's it though but here...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture) wikipedia is your friend
Nobody knows for sure. There are many different theories on how 4:20 originated, but none can be proven the original...
Off wikipedia: "4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a term used in North America as a discreet way to refer to the consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis culture. Phrases such as "420 friendly" sometimes appear in roommate advertisements, indicating that the current occupants are tolerant of cannabis users. [2]" I don't know why, but holy shit that last sentence is a hilarious.
Hahaha, who the hell would have 420 friendly in a newspaper or advertisement ? Thats just asking for a police raid
dude check it, half of 2 is one, 20+1 = 21, 21+4-2=23 3 divided by 2 = 0.666 weed is satan, smoke weed, smoke in hell
yeah, i've wondered about that too. i've actually seen it in ads. but i doubt police read the ads just to find "420 friendly" people. or do they?
They might just to check out if they are dealers or something, who knows.. I just think its sketchy because your address is right there, anyone (undercover?) could come and check out the place and bust you if you were growing or something.
^^^of course, you could just not put an add in the paper to come check out your place if you're growing there...
Typically when you place an ad for a roomie you do not put your address in it just a general area. Then you talk to them on the phone or email and move from there.
