I'm currently doing a 15 day detoxification program. It's not for drugs and alcohol, but just to generally cleanse out my system. I'm adhering to a pretty strict diet and am avoiding alcohol, pills and caffeine, but would like to smoke some pot. Does anyone know if this would completely defeat the purpose of detox? I'm unsure as to whether pot counts as a toxic substance.

I'd like to do this program right, so any advice is appreciated. :)

I'd suggest giving up the pot for the two weeks for a few reasons. First, smoke of any type is a pollutant, and it would be counterproductive to keep ingesting smoke while trying to simultaneously rid your body of toxins. Second, use the time to connect with yourself on a completely sober level without the influence of mind-altering substances. Detoxing is just as much about the mental aspect of your body as it is the physical. Third, when your detox is over and you smoke again for the first time, you'll get higher than ever before.

Yeah, go with the full detox. It'll be well worth it.

Yesterday was my last day and I feel great! I didn't cave in or cheat the entire fifteen days. Tonight a nice joint and I are going to celebrate. :)
