Who here has made budder? I've got more than a 1/4 of stems and leaves that I've saved over a period of time. I'd like to make some edibles since I have never successfully eaten weed before. I just think that I'll fuck it all up if I try it.

Just incase people don't know, which apparently is the fact, BUTTER is spelled with 'T's.

i think they're spelling it "budder" because its butter with bud in it. i almost said the same thing as you. personally i've always called it pot butter, and seen a lot of people call it cannabutter (which i think is a little dumb), but this is the first i've seen reference to "budder"

but i think thats why they're saying it like that.

Budder is actually a completely different form of marijuana. Budder is when you take, for example, an ounce of marijuana and through some unknown ionization process turn it into a gram of honey looking goo. One hit of that is like smoking 2 joints.

Yeah it's totally different from cannabutter. You can buy budder from zippybud.

either: save more stems, or get a grinder and get the kief off the stems. I am assuming you have danks stems, otherwise it would be very useless to try to do anything with them......

I've only used vegetable oil, because I've read that it is better than butter, when it comes to activating the THC. I don't know if it is actually better, but it worked wonders for me.

personally i use oil which i heat in a saucepan. i put about an oz of broken up swag in the hot oil an stir it around for a while. you know it's ready when your house reeks of dirty marijuana and when a napkin dipped in the oil comes out green. strain it and you're good to go.

i prefer oil because it won't go bad and it's already a liquid.

When making with butter, would the butter have to be unsalted?

I ended up using this method,

    Directions:
    1) Using a double boiler or two pots, melt the butter on low heat. When using two pots, fill the larger (bottom) pot with water and the top pot with butter.
(Figure 9.1 shows a small bowl inside of a pot)

    2) Once the butter has melted, add the weed. The amount of weed will determine the potency. For example, a "light" batch may use 3/4 of an ounce of weed to 5 sticks of butter.

    3) Simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.

    4) Let sit for 5 minutes then strain the pot butter (using cheesecloth) into a small bowl. (Figure 9.2)

    5) Once cool enough to handle, pick up the cheesecloth and squeeze out the juice.

    6) Cover and refrigerate until semi-solid.

Now what I have left is some green butter in a tupperware container in my fridge. I hope it gets the job done.

Thanks man, I definitely underestimated when I said it was a 1/4 it was just a little off from a 1/2. I put a little bit of bud in with it just for kicks also.

good luck my man, should work for ya. Just remember, it is potent, and you won't feel it right away. It may take up to an hour before you feel the effects, but when it does kick in, be ready for a LONG couch-lock sort of high. Everytime i've made cannabutter or cannaoil, about 2hrs after i eat it, im ready to sleep. Id rather smoke it.
