I've read and heard a lot of talk about 'bringing civilization to the middle-east'. So, where did it actually all begin for us modern humans? Which part of the world to we have to thank for the dawn of civilization? I'll post the answer later.
Well, most people would tell you it began in lower Mesopotamia (now Iraq) with the Sumerians. It actually goes back further than that, with the Hurrians, who occupied land further to the north, in areas which are now part of southwest Iran, southeastern Turkey, and eastern Syria. It likely goes back even further than that, but the oldest documented civilization that we can prove goes back to the Hurrians.
Yes, indeed and the Indus civilization of Harappa (Pakistan) is even older they say. I think we could go back even further. They've still not pinned down the exact origin of 90% of the Earth's language that comes from the 'Indo-Europeans'. Latest theory is they were a people that lived in what is now lower Russia, near Afghanistan; that they tamed the horse and invented the wheeled cart.
Anyway, why did I put this in 'America Attacks'? Well, here's some references to show how my thread is valid. 'The End of Civilisation' Cradle at Risk I've put this poll up just to highlight the backward ethnocentrism of a young nation inflicting its twisted system onto an old and noble land. (by land i speak of the people of Iraq, not the CIA dictator recently hanged for biting the hand that fed.)
They've already found mummified remains of celtic-looking people with kilts and plaited red hair under the desert. The female shaman had a pointed hat like a witch's. The warriors had compound bows (1000 years before they were supposed to be invented). The chinese tried to cover up the discovery for a while.
