Warning for incoming text wall. :p

Around a year ago i decided to dye my hair black (I didnt have dreads back then). I realy regret it now but i was kinda tired off my hair so i guess the other option would have been to cut it all off which would have been worse. The problem is that i hated to recolour my hair all the time and i hate how it looks when the hair has grown out a bit so my original hair colour is visible. My har is grayblonde so you notice it quite easy. So i decided to not dye my hair anymore since i decided to get dreads and i hoped that the colour difference wouldnt be so visible.

I've had my dreads for about 2 months now and they're starting to become pretty long (a bit under my shoulders) and i have around 1 decimeter of non dyed hair now. Im not sure if i like it :/ I love my dreads, but i wish i would be able to get rid of the black colour somehow.

Is it possible to get rid of the black colour without destroying the dreads or risking that it will look even worse? Or shall i instead try to dye the blonde hair with some lighter colour than black to make the progression (not sure if thats the right word :p) less visible. Or do you think i just should leave it as it is. :)

I would realy appreciate if someone could help me out with some opinions, because i'm not sure what to do. I can try to get a picture if you want. Maybe it will make it easier. :)

(sry for my bad english. I'm a swede so english isnt exactly my native language. :) )
    cheers

you could always bleach your hair and dye it back to whatever color you want. bleaching my hair actually helped my hair knot up tighter, but it can be really damaging, especially to thin hair.

my tips of my dreads are year old black... now a nice shiny brown. Revlon colorsilk fades like that. though if you dont like the look of roots id say just use a shade or 2 lighter that black. brown black, then dark brown and so on and so forth :) good luck!

I agree that two-toned dreads rock... especially when they're supa-long and are a different color at the tips.

However, if you really hate it I would suggest bleaching the black out and dying all your hair back to it's natural color (or close to it). It will probaly take several attempts over the course of several months since it's very difficult to match hair color... but it's doable I think.

i bleached my head and dyed my hair back to blue and brown, but they are definitely more than 2-tones :p

the tips are white on the blue, and the blue are all faded crazy colours...i think i'll just leave them though. i might dye them purple at some point.
