To be honest the only thing close to psy - trance I listen to is Infected Mushroom, the new album is excellent.

Infected isn't psytrance :p Their last few albums have been abysmal... Crappy pop trance... Too much cocaine...

Cosmo, Blissargon Demogorgon, Parasense, Kindzadza, Penta, Highko, Psykovsky are a few examples of some good dark stuff.

Labels like Trishula, Nabi, Stone Age, Mistress of Evil, Doof, Parvati, Peak, Osom, Triplag all release consistently quality darkpsy...

i don't like dark stuff in my trance, you you should definitely check out PRANA. I just got GEOMANTIK and it is amazing.

oh and to the dude above, INFECTED MUSHROOM is definitely psy-trance! don't bash it just because it's got some pop thrown in :)

but yeah... check 'em both out. rock oooon.

Er, no. It's not psytrance. Psytrance = Psychedelic Trance. There's nothing psychedelic about broken english vocals and predictable melodies. They are no doubt highly skilled at what they do and the production on their records is very tight but it's not psytrance. The older stuff may be considered it but the newer stuff is most definitely not.

Listen to some releases from labels like Liquid Recs, Wild Things, Demon Tea, Exogenic, Sonic Dragon (or any of their sublabels), Digital Psionics and Ambivalent and then tell me IM is psytrance...

On the Darkpsy front still... Check out Scorb, RAM, Deviant Species, Last Possible Solution Records and all that for some banging UK darkpsy...

leave the IM debate at that :) I think it's gone on enough throughout all psytrance forums around the world! (and leave IM also, their new album is hardly "trance" and definitely not psychedelic)

Night Forest Goa? Sounds promising. Gotta remember that.

    That's a shitload of bands, btw. :O
Care to narrow it down to the 5-or-so best ones? I can't choose between that many different artists.
