First off, I will start by apologizing for putting this here instead of the grow section, but no one reads that.

So I made a PC grow box, and I finished it today, well almost. It is really loud and leaks light which needs to be fixed.

It is really small so I will tie down the plant as it grows (LST).

I am using 2 27watt 6500k cfls which should be sufficient for one plant.

I currently only have one fan for intake, but when it starts to bud I will probably add a small carbon filter to it.

I will take some pics tomorrow when no one is home, and hopefully get rid off the light leaks and plant a seed. :D

(yes I am aware that there is a chance it can be male)

After this grow I will purchase seeds for good plants.

Well maybe you should get a cheap thermomater and see how hot its getting in there. That way you dont accidently fry your plant.

Yea I think I will pick one up this weekend.

Now I see why 2 fans would be nice. Lol. It just didn't connect with heat.

But yea I will pick one up this weekend.

When the scrog screen is use there is no reason to tie down really, I am sure it helps but it would be useless IMO to tie down and scrog.

i think they tied down too cause the plant was getting pretty tall and probably was gonna get fried by the light. Also i believe you wanna tie down too so you can get more buds growing and you can put screens on the sides too and have some plants growing up there too to maximize the amount of bud grown.

But im not sure since i havent done too much reading on this. I think we need M4N14C42O in here.

Haha we do. But the screen should keep the tops from going to close to the light and it helps spread it along the surface area.

I guess I could see someone tie down when a top pushes higher up through the scrog allowing it to be tied down.

Hey bud clean setup!! Your off to a great start for a good stealth grow!!

Now, you both were on the right track in a way. If you planning on doing a scrog grow, people tend to top the plant at around the 4th or 5th node, then when it "bushes" out a bit, then tie those down until it gets big enough to put the screen on. This is the time when you untie it and let it fill in the screen. Now as vegetative growing goes along the plant will grow up into the screen and a good portion will grow through the screen, when anything comes above the screen about 1-2in tuck it under the screen, continue this process until about 75% of the screen is filled in. Flip to flowering and continue tucking under the shoots for a week. At this time (one week into 12/12) stop tucking and just let the tops grow on through, you'll be rewarded with some quality top colas ;)

Note: topping and tieing isn't necessary. When i do scrog i just top the plant around the 6th node, let it get good and bushy, then put the screen on and push the screen down about 2in on the plant. This way you already have a good portion of the screen filled and only need to do veg for another 2-4wks.........either way works tho.

also, if i were you, i would use those cfls to do seedling and vegetative stage, then use two 42watt warm white cfls, like $8.50 apiece at walmart, had to pick up a couple today.

Ingenious idea, but surely the air blowing out of that thing is going to fucking stink?

you use a carbon scrubber to get rid of smell or you can hook up a spoof to a fan and it will get rid of the smell if you dont have alot of plants.
