I was thinging of getting my nosed pierced and had a few questions. First, I had my bellybutton done and my body rejected the piercing right away, what are the chances of this happening to my nose? What side is the "proper" side of the nose to get pierced for a female, or does it even matter?

    Thanks for your help.

Rejection - Different parts of the body reject more easily than other parts. Cartilage, for one, is not nearly as likely to reject. Navels can be touchy, depending on how your bellybutton is, how it moves when you sit, etc., some heal easier, some reject easier. I wouldn't say, because a navel piercing rejected, it makes you much more likely to reject other piercings... you'd be surprised at how many of them reject (especially since you still see so many that didn't).

Side doesn't matter. What side a guy pierces his ear (or if he pierces both) doesn't matter any more, what side you get your cartilage (if only one ear) or nostril pierced doesn't matter any more... those stereotypes are WAY out of date. If anyone says anything, just walk away, they're stuck in the 80's (or just looking to insult you), they can't help the way they are. :)

In the 1500's, people from India caught onto the tradition from Moghul emperors that ruled the Middle East. They would have a piece of jewelry called a ring stud in the nose. Sometimes there would be a stud on both sides of the person's nose. Some people added chains to their studs and draped them back to their ears for a more sophisticated look. Most of the time, you will see the nose pierced on the left side as this is the side in Ayurvedic medicine that controls the female organs.

i think in the north of india its done on the left and in the south the right, not sure, but i think on the left its meant to ease menstrual and labour pains.
