i was thinking of doing something in my dreads made with copper wire. is it bad for your hair if left in for a certain amount of time? it's coated with stuff but i don't know if that makes a difference or not.

for me, i have to sleep on the opposite side of my beads so my head doesnt hurt. if you turn a certain way, you better be careful with that wire even if it is covered. wire would look kick ass. i just tie-de uped my hair and new shit always looks great! good luck!

i dont believe so. try it and if you start to see something change then take it out. its just knotted hair after all. usually wire leaves a mark after it crosses with another kind of substance with a reaction. i think.

i thought i just heard someone around here saying not to use copper wire because it can eff with your hair. maybe i'm wrong, but maybe do a little research first?

I would guess that if copper jewlery could turn skin green it could turn hair green as well? I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal short term though.

I wear copper spiral thingys in my dreads. I do have to move them every so often otherwise I do get a greenish tinge. They look great though, I've had heaps of good comments about them.
