Man there all so perfect. But the best ones are Led Zepplin,Jefferson Airplane,Country Joe McDonald,Heart,Mammas And Pappas,The Rolling Stones,Sam Roberts, and Jimi Hendrix.
Led Zeppelin arent really hippie but they still rock and the beatles and Grateful dead are mysteriously absent from ur list
mmm led zeppelin, everyone who knows me knows how i feel about led zeppelin. hehe. i would have to say Blue Cheer, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Big Brother and The Holding Co., The Doors, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jefferson Airplane, The Dead, Bob Dylan, Frijid Pink, the MC5 and The Lemon Pipers. =]
Well, I'm not sure the Beatles qualify as a "hippie band" except from Rubber Soul through maybe the White Album or Abbey Road, but I really love their stuff from that period, and it was moreorless the soundtrack of that era for me. I also very much love Hendrix's work. And there are oodles and oodles of artists and songs that I love from that era. It's my favorite era of music by far.
The Flying Burrito Brothers!!!! Allman Brothers band, Phish (still pretty hip if you ask me, even though they're new/old), Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan. Not really necessarily hippie, but they embodied some of the ideas of Love and Peace. I can think of more, but I shall do so later.
