This is my second time growing dreads, & my old ones were about equal in diameter to say, a water bottle lid?
& I wasn't too fond of how they looked on me. so I spent a couple days slowly combing them out. & now, here I am, attempting to start over.

I'd like them to be like, REALLY skinny. (about the size of a regular ballpoint pen)

Jason Hale has some pretty nice ones.

so, any advice about how to keep them really small like that?

OH, & I really like how the ends of his aren't like, balled, or whatever. They just come to a tip. With my old dreads, the ends rolled naturally...is there any way to prevent that?

& his shorts say "get low" on the butt.

what ive heard is that if your hear is curly its easyer to have skinny dreads, and the skinnyer they are the more work and more time it takes for them to dread. some of mine are that thin, and its hard to make them dread

keep ripping them apart and comb the ends out if they try to round up.

pointless to envy other's dreads because they turn out the way they're gonna turn out.

exactly, there's no two heads of dreads that are the same that's what makes them great. dreads aren't the most controllable hairstyle, they just do their own thing and turn out the way they want to, you can guide them a bit but for the most part they turn out the way they like best, i'm sure your dreads will turn out great even if they aren't all as thin as that guy's.

    good luck on your journey!
