I understand that identity theft is all the rage, but I think the issue of duplication is not just my problem. I think Hip Forums or any other website is threatened if members were allowed to use each other's names without permission. If anybody using the name Wayfaring Stranger was posting in this forum in May, 2004, it wasn't me & I certainly wasn't aware of it. Nor was I aware of anybody else using the name when I signed up. Nor have I seen any posts by another Wayfaring Stranger in 2007 until the recent one. I figure it's the job of the administrators of Hip Forums to straighten this out. Ordinarily, sites do computerized screening to make sure this doesn't occur. I have never been a "Corporate Slave".

    Thou shalt not steal faces!

btw: I remember the real Wayfaring Stranger from Bree's Christian Hippies personal forum when I first joined back in Feb-March of '04.

In case you haven't noticed, Wayfaring Stranger the younger is now "Okiefreak". When I originally signed up, I didn't know there was another person who was already using the name. I figured that if anybody else had the same name, in the computer era, I would have been notified immediately by Hip Forums and asked to pick another. I don't know how the previous Wayfaring Stranger got his name, but I got mine from a folksong that I relate to "I am a lone wayfaring stranger..." So in that sense, I guess we're both "stealing". By the way, did you ever meet two people named Fred? Which one do you suppose "stole" his name from the other?
