What are we paying John Kerry to do?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought John Kerry is a senator. So we are paying him $154,000 a year to do what? In 2003 Kerry missed 72% of the votes in the senate.

 

Yup, and in the past he has voted with Republicans an awful lot. Not to mention I believe his name was only on 3 bills. Apparently he's got better things to do than his job. Which in case anyone has forgotten is to represent the PEOPLE!

 

Not that I'm a Kerry fan -- I'm not -- but this is not at all unusual. I suspect that you will find the same is true of most senators.

 

Fuck, Congress doesn't even read half the bills they pass, I think we can excuse Kerry for jerking off in the bathroom while everyone else was busy doing their jobs.

Bush gets $400,000 year and look at what he has done. Wasted our economy and budget, bogged us down in Iraq for oil, taken away our rights, scrapped most of your laws protecting the enviroment and people for corparate greed.

Fellow MA senator Ted Kennedy missed 3% in 2003. A far cry from the 72% missed by Kerry. Kerry does change his mind a lot. Maybe he was there for the votes, but just couldn't decide.

As for Iraq, the U.S. agenda has been to affirm control of the region ( as in the middle east ) for decades, since the 73-74 arab oil embargo. Now if you look at the region today the U.S. has spread its military presence throughout. The most recent events with Iraq have shown to the countries in the region and the world how easily the U.S. can crush anyone who oppose its agendas. Invading Iraq the U.S. has established its foothold on the region permanently. So why does the U.S. take all of these actions, to control the oil.

'Tis completely true. Granted, it wasn't supposed to go down like this, but Bush had his own agenda of how and when to get things done. Russia was supposed to be involved. Ironic, how they are suddenly becoming more and more involved. Regardless, we have control of the oil now and until there is no more. 1. Ted Kennedy wasn't starting to run for president in 2003, Kerry was, there is a bit of a diference. Kind of like how Bush is running his re-election campaign better than he is running the war. (Wouldn't people vote for him if he did a good job, instead of screwing up? Oh thats right people buy into propaganda bullshit on both sides. 2. Where is the basis for this "changing his mind" bs. He vote for te war based on military intelligence that was wrong, now that he knows all the CIA bullshit and United Nations presentations were bullshit he is against the war. Doesn't this make sense? He voted agaisnt giving so much money to go into the war fund for certain reasons. Alot of senators vote against a bill because it has one clause in it that was put in there so that it can get pushed through sneakily.

The last poll I saw Bush was ahead. So if Kerry is running for president its o.k. for him to miss his job 72% of the time. I would suggest a 72% paycut, but it wouldn't really affect him. Maybe there should be a law that states if you can't do your job at least half of the time you should get fired. I know most people can't get away with not doing their job 72% of the time.

I feel that if you're trying to make an intelligent point, then your spelling and grammer should show that you're intelligent enough to make a point.

Ok great idea, and we will also make a law that says the president can not take more than one vacation during times of war. If he does, he's fired. This seems resonable based on your idea. I do not remember FDR vacationing in California during WWII. Also, voting in the senate is not the only job of a senator, is there anyone in Massachusetts that would like to explain why they voted for Kerry?

I know where it comes from, what I was trying to explain was that many of these so called flip-flops have reasonable explinations or he changed his mind from a previous postion that in some cases he held 8 years ago.

I feel that if you are intelligent, you will be able to get over the fact that someone used the word to instead of too, or mistyped a word. What a waste of time.
