The Raphe Nuclei is located in the Pons, attached to the anterior side of the Medula, it send messages to the hypotalamus, tegmentum, tectum, cerebral aquaduct...etc. now, it seems to me that if you could somehow light up the Raphe with 50 microvolts...you could relax without any damn drugs. That would piss off drug compaines. My dream is an equalizer-like device that attaches to the brain in which you could boost or limit different types of feelings (hallucinations, relaxation, etc) by messing with some slider like switches that send microvolts to the appropriate areas. i would like this now and fuck drug laws, money for drugs, etc. now...im probably in trouble for even mentioning it.
bonus. i done already did the thing with the damage...maybe this would fix it. however, infection with the elctrodes is more of my concern than brain damage after inductiOn of microvoltage. let me know - thanks
It really could work if it was researched forever and ever. If we could figure out what parts of the brain and what neurons respond to how much electricity to get specific results. It's clearly a thing of the distant future. Drugs do that just fine now =P
ha ha, yeah. things to do: 1. harvest adrealin gland 2. stimulate the Raphe with 50 microvolts 3. develop my brand of rave music 4. sleep and record dreams for publication with the device 5. ??? 6. eat a little more gland 7. off to the rave!
well i do agree there are some fine drugs...but the fact drug have a profit margin is all wrong...I mean, it can have some profit, but should be availble to the rich as the poor for a fair price. and it would be an obsession to research forever and ever on this topic if only i was getting paid for it...not only to buy good drugs in the mean time...but so i can buy my own home and tell certain people to fuck off. L
i need a clearer picture of whats going on from the Raphe to the 'pleasure center' (which I gather has something to do with the roof and floor of the cerebral aquaduct. yes, electrical impulses of about +/- 50 mv to the Raphe Nuclei but as emphasis on electro-chemical indicates...there is already a major hurdle with understanding that its not just about electrons and conduits, its has to do with microscopic chemical reactions in unisen. much more research will be needed either way but i wonder where the zenith of human understanding is on this topic right now (at major corporation(s) or military)...
