and Rock 'N' Roll in TV ads.

I got this idea from the movie Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer . She got the kid's attention by telling them that Mr. Tambourine Man in Bob Dylan's song was a drug dealer. Anyhoo, i've noticed lately that advertisers are using our music in their commercials. I just saw Dennis Hopper in an ad for Ameriprise Financial and the background song was "Gimme Some Lovin'" by The Spence Davis Group.

Another example: Chase credit card ad features a soound alike version of The Beatles classic "All You Need Is Love".
So why do we need a credit card.

Any other signs of this out there?

    What do you think?

    Ironic or what.

it's also usually cheaper to use older music in commercials, and your music is starting to reach that age. also, as the original artists age and die, their families or whoever now has the rights to the music are more likely to sell it to commercials for money than someone who is still currently trying to be artistic with their music
