...to retain something of the powerful symbols inherent in this religion, and of the truths as they are expressed by the devotees who are exemplifiers of the power of faith in the teachings of Jesus. But all I find here, and most everywhere, pages upon pages of intollerance and judgement. After 43 years I have finally opened my eyes and I have found that the religion of my youth has left me bleeding and alone in the battlefield of the search for truth. Here is the truth... Christians are the most intollerant and hate spewing followers of truth I have ever known. I do not say this lightly ~ the power of faith has demonstrated itself in my life in ways too miraculous to be anything short of works of God. It is not God who has disollusioned me, but rather His followers. WHY SO MUCH HATE? Come on people, if God is anything, He is a "bringer togetherer" and not a "tearer aparterer". Don't you get it... God is bigger than that... can't we be also? If we are goung to spew, can't we spew tollerance and compassion, just like Jesus sugested? nuff said
Well perhaps it's not truth but falsehood they are following. I'm not surprised you're disillusioned.
Find a religion that is more accepting. Better yet, drop the religion part and follow Jesus as he intended: living like he would have. Love everyone, do no harm, help all that you can. Peace and love
I know exactly what you mean. it breaks my heart to see it. I dont know where the root of it all comes from, but the best way for the enemy to destroy is within. It saddens me that there are people crushing other brothers and sisters, where is the love? where is the compasion? I encourage you to stay close to Gods side, and I pray that he will bring like minded people to your path, who speak words of encouragement and truth into your life. People liek that are refreshing and hard to come by, but believe me they are there.
