I am not even going to touch this one.. too damn easy. Huh? Prove it. Your hostility is more then enough to confirm the truth.
Again I remind you all that you must ignore that assholes. Do not feed the trolls..however you want to look at it.
I completely agree with you. We should start a new Psychedelic era. We'd definatly need people who know how to lay acid, play music, build shit, work the sound, and lastly people dedicatd enough to do it all for the good of man an not for the almighty $. I could help with all the above except for playing music. I'm not musically (playing and instrument) inclined. I have thought, for a long time, that the only reason I wasn't born in the flower child era was to, also, save the world from itself later on in life.
The only reason any of you FEEL as if you should have been born in the 60's is because your parents grew up and were prolly flower children, I know my mom was a hippie and my dad plays Led Zepplin and Jimmy Hendrix songs on guitar.I grew up listening to The Beatles and the Beach boys and prolly like most of the music you guys like. Sadly I was taught to be my own person and not try to emulate others, which is were your parents failed woodstock, John Lennon Peace, and many others. The reason why we are "trolling" is that you people are not open minded and are just playing the role of hippies when you dont even know the true reason you are doing it. You are just drabbling out the same stupid shit that got the hippie era killed, too much focus on drugs and rock and roll not enough on protesting wars and fighting large corperation and goverments, the real hippies that stuck with it and believed it in are still having rallies to this day but I doubt you ever go protest outside in the heat when its nice and cool in your parents house. Trolling, we are not. Trolling is posting to purposley disrupt threads for no reason (we have our reasons) and to posts messages that are not supported by ideas or facts or they are just not well constructed, like an example would be..well most posts in this thread following woodstocks side.
to me this thread clearly seperates the true kids from the plastic.................guess which side really knows whats up......love family, pity the babylonians.
omg. People, you have completely lost the whole idea of this thread in the first place! wth?? TheAmanuensisOfGod, you have no right, none what so ever to talk to anyone the way you did. If you don't like john lennon peace's ideas, then don't read them! least of all beat him down because your a self loathing egotistical jack ass that has nothing better to do than to pick on people who disagree with you. This site is about disccussing things from all angles and sharing new ideas. it's not for blattently bashing people for their thoughts! your one of THEM if you do. YOU are one of the people YOU called someone else. Think on this, and peace your way. OBVIOUSLY you need it.
ugh...I'm so getting fucking tired of the statements from both sides. The people who are for the cause, I'll start with you. You think that TheAmanuensisOfGod and mr. morrison and unmotivated have no right saying the things they said? Sure, the things that were said by them may have not been the nicest, best things to say, but you have no right to tell them what their rights are. That is an attack to their rights of free speech, something that a cause for "peace" should abide by. And to the side who is against the cause, you're next. Do you really think that insults and catcalls are really going to wake these kids up? Fuck no. Most of you guys are the same age as them, so you're no more more mature then they are. Plus, you should know that when a teenager makes up their mind about something, they're going to be stubborn about it and not stop no matter how stupid it seems. This thread started out being very believable and ambitious with good intentions, now it's just an proverbial tug-of-war match with one side having ideals and plans that'll never work in today's society, and then another side having people who are just angry for no reason, insulting whoever is on the other side, because it probably makes you feel big and adult-like, even though you're the same age, if not younger than the people you're arguing with, calling them immature. Yeah, sure..what a fucking crock. I'm done. You can say whatever you want to me, but each of you that are in this "debate" know that I caught you all red-handed. You all have the right to your own opinions, so none of you are wrong, but you all better fucking wake up, and not just the peace-loving hippie side. Pathetic.
this thread is quickly becoming one of my favorites........the sheer idiocy of the lurid quantity of attention given to this pointless ideologue from both sides amuses the hell out of me.........carry on kids, carry on..... (and yeah I see the obvious irony, no need to point it out.......makes it all the better )
Looks like the beatings are continuing until morale improves. There's a quaint if naive idealism with a "Woodstock Revolution". I both admire the mindset but see the concept as completely unworkable as in order to change the world one needs a lot of willing cooperation. That alone makes the concept nearly unworkable as people are as territorial about their ideas as they are about their possessions. Reading through this exchange of blunt verbal bludgeonings I have to ask myself, what's more important... that there be change- or that the change be of a particular construct? The political climate has regressed to its current state of dysfunction largely because the brainwashed right can do one thing better than most: they can vote and make their voice heard as one. Meanwhile, more left leaning groups expend critical energy infighting about how proposed change should manifest itself instead of marshalling its collective force to overthrow the corporate vermin that have infested our seats of power. Is the concept expressed in the OP naive? Yes, but it is well intended. Is attacking individuals for holding ideals that may not be as well thought out as they could be accomplishing anything? Yes, it's going to alienate people from caring about political change and reinforce the notion that there is nothing they can do about all that is wrong in the world. The insulting here makes for entertaining reading but does nothing to further the agenda of sending a message of dissatisfaction with the state of things. Instead of insulting young people who have the guts speak their mind help educate them on more effective methods of dissent. Filling in one on facts does more to fuel their need for knowledge than ridiculing them for posting a well meaning ideal that could use a tad more thought. The fighting that this has degenerated to is analogous to the divisiveness that neuters what could be effective movement towards the change that is sorely needed. Continue to think about sending a message - but consider how to do it in a way that will be taken seriously.
So this is your response to him? Can you make any other statements against his debate other than ones showing your immaturity? I used to support you, but you're just being a stubborn little brat. If you want people to respect you, you better be ready for people to disagree with you and you answer them back with a good case.
Amanuensis and John Lennon, your debate is leading you nowhere!!! One of you got to stop this insanity. We're all here because we think the world needs change, no? Or maybe am I too naive. But you've got to accept each other as humans with flaws and qualities. It's your own ego that's preventing you from entering into an intelligent and useful debate and that's preventing you from being both winners.
You say he's a small child but he's only 4 years younger than you. Do you really believe you've had more experience in life to call him immature. Yeah, he is really fucking immature, but does that make you mature as well? You might be more mature than him, but that doesn't mean you're the Dali Lama or something.
Yes, I understand that, man. But what you should understand is that there people who don't see things as cold and dispassionate, but happy, beautiful and peaceful. Naive, as it may be, it means people are happy, and that's what it's really all about. There are people who see the world in a positive light, and when there are conflict and death, instead of putting that into the fact book of how terrible the world and humans are, they put as mistakes that we must learn from in order to have peace. Yes, it's naive, but it's people's opinions and world views. Not only 13 kids have this view, but people from all over the world of all ages, and it doesn't make them wrong or stupid. It's not realistic in today's society, but who gives a fuck about today's society. You have every right to argue with this kid and others, but maybe if you shared your opinions and arguments in a more positive way, they wouldn't attack you, or maybe they would, I can't speak for them
Gentle education of someone who has passion for a cause is one thing... bludgeoning someone with how right you are and how wrong they are is quite another. I'm impressed with the ability to articulate a well thought out stance but am less taken by the attacks that are taking place here. Be advised that some of the more passionate proponents of a cause are going to be less than concerned with the facts behind it. Name calling and assaulting their perceived naivity can only rob their enthusiasm. You can be on top of your research and be so factually correct but using that to insult someone who may not be as well researched as you will do nothing to win converts... it can only thin the herd so to speak. It could get mighty lonely at the top.. and such a vast minority can easily marginalized by the powers that be.
Wow... A lot has happened on this thread since I've been gone. What happened to the love? Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean that they are wrong or their points are invalid. Enough of my rant. We can make a difference by changing our own neighborhood. Volunteer. Help people out with little things. Visit hospitals. Work at animal shelters. READ!!!! There are so many things we can do to change our own corner of the world. Change starts small and gradually builds. We need a revolution of minds, not one of guns or fighting or violence. Violence never solves problems; it just creates them. Educate yourselves and others. Peace and love
Fom what red in you're other posts, you dont have much of a postive outlook on life. You think that changing the world with a revolution is impoosible, that it will never work, unless guns are used. For Example: That doesnt seem very positive to me. All you do is tell us our plans for a revulution will fail, you do no offer you're own plans. I guess you're fine with the world today and notinhg about it bothers you. Either that or you think you will fail for sure so you dont even try.
