Okay, we all know how the glaciers are melting because of global warming and the greenhouse effects and everything; but, as it gets hotter and hotter out, doesn't that mean that the water will just evaporate? Is it just that the evaporation is taking more time than the melting? Or is it that since it's evaporation just lifts the water up and conenses into clouds, making it rain, the thought of the water level going down is rendered obsolete?
basically, once the ice has melted, that water is back in the water cycle. While before it was locked up in the glacier, now it is evaporating, condensing, raining, over and over. Melting ice adds more water to the cycle. I'm not sure what the consequences would be, but there would definitely be an impact.
Higher temp-------> more water in the air-------->more weather Weather stems from some type of heat/moisture exchange, the greater the differences in the exchange/areas the "worse" the weather.
I also hear that salt water current and fresh water current have a lot to do with this major current in the Atlantic ocean, which helps give us warmer temperatures. The amount of fresh water is nullifying the salt water and stopping this important current. If it stops, we are going to be led into another ice age. Evidence shows now that it is actually slowing down rapidly.
yeah, but have you ever heard of global warming? the process by which WE are irreversibly altering the earth's atmosphere at a unnatural and frightening pace? the oceans will rise and coastal areas will be lost. weather will continue to get more severe and will increase damage and death tolls. more cases of skin cancer and more species extinctions. more people born with alergies and more athsma every day. eventually it will be hazardous to leave your home.
I think the glaciers will serve as ice cubes in a drink to keep it cold long enough for the glaciers to melt then the water will start getting hotter, but not before many cities are flooded and dry land has gotten very hot.
Come on, get with the program. "Gloom and doom" is the name of the "environmental" religion. It's not allowed to suggest that it might not be so bad after all. That's "heresy." If too many people believe that, there might be a revival of freedom, and the common people might get more empowered, at the expense of the greedy corporations and stupid politicians. (sarcasm) Repeat after me. "The sky is falling." "Gloom and doom." (sarcasm) Never mind, if people really knew what mattered, they could pretty much care less about remote things such as supposedly "melting" glaciers. And there has been warming trends throughout history, that rather than being "the end of the world" actually coincided with some increased periods of prosperity.
