for birthday gifts for the girlfriend?

I have 10 days to think about it when I leave for a camp stint on Tuesday, but yeah, I'm sort of drawing a blank.

    Does price matter?

    Nothing at all in mind?

    Anything she actually need?

I'll probably spend around 300 bucks or so.

Maybe even just get something for our new place. Nice piece of furniture or something.

Yeah, that's always been something done in my family...

    We're big on giving furniture.

Strange to think this desk is worth more than my bed, though. I my bed... some time ago, at Haverty's. I spent $300.

This desk cost more than anything in this room, besides my music stuff...

And there's an heirloom piesafe that someone in my family now has (no idea who... it was tranferred to someone by my dad, after a grandma died) that was built in the 18th century, in Colonial Williamsburg. Think my aunt has it. I'm going to try and get it back someday. There's also a pump organ.

how about something of sentimental value, like a message in a bottle? you can get them online. they come with freeze dried rose petals, and they can put them in a cedar wooden box and it comes with a velvet bag, and you can write your own message. and it comes with a key to unlock the box to get to the bottle.

You're gonna want to get her something with some sort of sentimental value. A piece of furniture just doesn't cut it until you've been married for a while. So pick something for less than $100 that will make her go "awwwwe" (as in look at that cute puppie kinda awe). Then get a card and flowers and take her out to dinner. With the last 50-100 you can get her a gift for the house, etc. Just make sure it isn't some item that she would use to clean the house :)

Yeah... I wound up buying a print off an asian artist she was talking about a couple months ago.

It won't be here in time (shipping + having it framed), so I got two gifts. The other is a really high-quality bigass kitchen knife. She's learning how to cook Thai.
