hi dears brothers and sisters from everywhere! please answer this tow question: 1. how do you identify the word religion? 2. what do you think the purpose religion is meant to serve basicly?
1. I am Muslim 2. I think Allah creates us knowing of a Creator and of spiritual things, but the world is not spiritual, so it creates a longing in us, and all world religions are meant to fulfill this longing for a spiritual connection

Sorry brother, I misunderstood the question The english word "religion" stems from the Latin word religionem meaning respect for what is sacred I know in Arabic "deen" means path or way, I also know Arabic comes from Aramaic, and the Aramaic word for way, path is dina I hope I have answered your question

thanks brother themnax.. but religions have certain beleifs to serve and some of them are different for religions are different. can you tell us more about your beleif so can touch more the purpose of religion through its beleifs.. right?
I beleive the Arabic word "deen" is use dto describe religion, because it is the perfect descriptor, especially Islam, To submit to Allah, to obey Allah, and to be a slave to Allah, as all Muslims are to be, I don't think there could be a better word, definantly not in English
