He...He... (Play Along!) It's going on August 15,16, & 17th. (Yeah, it's the 21st and it's 2007, use your imagination) Great bands are playing there, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Crosby, Stills Nash & Young! I'm all packed to go, and I'm driving my psycadelic vw bug to New York to go! I'm just right now looking for some interested hippies to go with me. It's August 11th, 1969 right now. I'm gonna be leaving to go in a couple days....
i love ya young hippies but you gotta stop looking back & look forward the fact is that if you sit around wishin u could go back to 69, you go nowhere but if you look forward to tomorow, to creatting something new then u might actualy get somewhere what good is creating peace in the past? if theres only war in the future? theres so many amazing opurtunities for you to create a better world for tomorow today, but yesterday is gone, & wishing it wasnt will only keep you from moving forward you cant change time, but you can change the world in time
wise hugaholic instead of dreaming of a woodstock, why not make another? if you want something bad enough, go and get it! nothing is truely impossible...
Thats what i was going to say. I always play along, because if im sitting my ass on the internet im not doing anything either, and there is no reason not to joke around, play a game and have fun. *shrug* Think what you want I guess.
it is now August 15th. There are lots of cars on the road. None of them are going anywhere, but they are TRYING to get to Woodstock. A little frusterated, a young hippie steps out of her psycadelic painted car. She is about 19 years old, and has blond hair which is very long all the way down to her knees. She has a sparkly pink bandana ried around her head, because pink is her fav. color. She is wearing rose colored glasses, and long, dangly earrings. She has a flower and peace sign paintd on her face. Around her neck are many strands of love beads, and she is wearing lots of bracelets. Her outfit is totally hippie. She is wearing a *pink* shirt with long, flowy butterfly sleeves. Her shirt stops right above her belly, and she is wearing jingly bells. She had a pair of bell-bottoms on, and is barefoot. The girl gets out of her psycadelic painted car, a little frusterated, and reaches back in the car, and takes out her crying baby, trying to calm her down. Then, she turns to the car next to her. There are some other hippies heading to Woodstock standing there. *Make up your own hippie character, then go along with the story.....
*Among the other hippies who are heading to Woodstock, there's a tall young man with hair down to his back. Wearing pilot shades and a ring of flowers on his head, Love beads cover his neck while his bare feet feel the soft earth. His vest covers his chest as he sits down smokin some green before moving on.* *Finally after a few bowls he gets up and grabs his pack full of clothes, then turns around to look at all the people behind him coming out of their cars.*
A young Teenage Hippie, gets out of a car. he has Hair down to his shoulders. it's straight and curls up at the end. A crappy 2 cent necklace hangs off his neck. onto his Grateful Dead Shirt. He has Bell Bottoms, ripped at the knee. He groans and brings the joint in his fingers up to his mouth and he inhales. he removes it and flicks onto the ground, stomping it out. He gives an exhaling sigh and smoke blows out his mouth. A baby is crying in the distance, and the car behind him keeps honking his horn. He turns around. The man is 40 or so, wearing a suit and honking his horn. he is clearly not going to see the site of the legendary concert, but trying to get to work. Ahead is a cop trying in vain to direct traffic. Their is a small pond about twenty feet off the road. He locks his car and goes to it. Two other hippies sit their on a rock by the banks. One has a guitar and is playing "Embryonic Journey" by Jefferson Airplane. She finishes and the other two hippies clap.
I think, Pete, that this gen idolizing what was at Woodstock is much like the mountain man/pioneer/Native American/ middle ages peasant chic that many hippies drew from. Looking to a point where the values, on the surface, made sense. But I do challenge the young uns here to come up with some workable ideas. I'll tell you, I've done this repeatedly in past years (back to 99) and have gotten few thoughtful responses.
Another girl tries to get through the huzzle and buzzle. She stops for a moment to look at a bright car with a baby but then the Ma gets out looking cheesed off so she continues. Shes wearing green top, black cropped trousers, she has several items of jewellary including a jingly necklace and a friendship bracelet with a rudish meaning. She turns to cross the road but falls over before she can do so. Brushes herself off and carries along slighty muddy. She stops at a pleasent area and procedes to eat her lunch.
When walks up a dude dressed in a white robe with a brown leather pouch hanging from his shoulder..he approches the crying baby and gently places his hand on the babys forhead and wispers in it's little ear.. say softly, " We love you little one, grow and be free as the wind. The dude in the white robe turns to the mother and reached into his brown leather poich a pull out a little blue viai and encourages the mother to drink it. The mother was so happy that her baby had stoped crying from the robed dude she took the vail and swallowed it in a wink. The dude smiles with a twinkle in his eyes and started off down the line of cars handing out little blue vails..
The girl (Who's name is Raiyne) just looks puzzled like, "What just happned?" Then, she looks down at her baby, who is sound asleep. Grabbing the rest of her belongings out of the car, she slings her bag over her shoulder. The bag is decorated with lots of pins with sayings on them. In it, she had clothes to last her for three days, stuff for the baby, among various other things. The girl contiunes towards Yasgur's farm, soon kicking off her sandals and contiuning barefoot. All the cars she passes are empty and abandoned, for everyone has walked by now. Along the way, a man sits in his fancy car, dressed in a suit. He is really frusterated, and is honking his horn, ordering the traffic to move. The girl covoers her baby's ears, not to wake her precious child. Following along behind a bunch of other hippies, the girl suddenly becomes tired, and stops at a rock to sit and rest her feet.....
A fourteem year old girl and her friends come running along the road, their feet bare, laughing like the teenages they are! The guirls name is Kate, she has long brown, messy hair down to her waist and is handing out flowers to strangers. he is wearing long very flared Jeans and a tie-dye T-shirt. around her shoulders is draped a sleevless denim jacket with Peace and Love sewn everywhere. Around her head she has tied a long, flowing bandana. She stops to give Raiyne a hug and attempts to comfort the baby. xxx xxx
