I made these for my myspace group's latest exchange! They are going out to a woman in Waco, TX. She said pink is her favorite colour and she expressed interest in a pair of lacy arm warmers. I hope she likes them!
wow, those are gorgeous!! pink's my fave colour so i really dig those!! i love knitting lace, it's relaxing!
thanks ladies. the pattern was quite simple. It looks like there is some cableing going on, but its just a series of SSK and K2Ts. I am working on another pair of them in purple-blue-grey varigated for my grandma for christmas.
nice! I'm totally hooked on stitching up wrist/arm warmers... I'm even whipping up a batch of them as december-holiday gifts...
here is the pattern: http://www.cidermoon.com/cm0125.html only problem I ran into was that I couldn't find the recommended yarn on their website, let alone the wonderful colour they used... so I couldn't find out what weight the yarn was. I ended up going with a lace weight, and size 3 needles. Oh, and after you make the "hole" for the thumb, it says to work the "main pattern" as normal, but what they mean is to use the last stitch pattern, not the fist stitch pattern (which is the stitch pattern labeled as the main pattern). lol... hope that doesn't confuse you even worse! p.s. anyone notice that in the second pic I look like I am set to play a game of "squish your head"??
Thank you! I'm gonna start on those suckers right away. Haha was that a Kids in the Hall reference, by any chance?
Those are very cool! I need to get or make something like that before it gets cold this year... keep me warm in my glass studio w/o making my fingers useless!
This is way OT, but Knittin.chick, anyone ever tell you that you look like Molly Parker? Or how about Carolyn Stokes, reporter for NTV (which for some reason I get here in Saskatchewan?) Seriously, google these people.. the resemblance is uncanny. P.S. Thanks for the armwarmer kudos. My exchange partner better like them, or she is indead wacko.. (get it, she is from Waco? Am sure that joke is heard a lot by people from Waco..)
Awww. They're adorable. Now, this is the excuse I've been waiting for to go out and buy more yarn. Yaye!
Thanks everyone. One word of advice to those of you who want to make some: don't use a varigated yarn. The stitch pattern gets lost in all the colours.
