they look GREAT! they will calm down, don't worry. they will probably fall out and come back together on their own, just keep 'em clean, and enjoy the ride! you've got some lovely new locks. :)

they are freaking nuts! it hard to tell one from the other so i have to keep separating them but I'm so psyched i actually didn't loose too much length.

so if they come apart to i keep back combing or leave them?

just leave them. you'll find big chunks of your hair will fall out and be just plain hair, but in time they will knot up on their own. i started by backcombing and lost almost all the bottom, but left them alone. a month and a half later, i only have a couple tiny chunks that don't have some kind of knottiness going on. i think of it like this: backcombing gets your hair thinking knotty, and then from there, just let it do its thing! wearing lots of hats and doing some wool rubbing helped me a lot, too!

here's an option. get a tam and stuff your hair inside that bad boy. keep it there for some time, and let your hair do its dreading naturally. it will take a little while, but it'll happen. and that way you don't have to stress about getting someone to help you. just a thought. :)

i second that. after backcombing, the entire back of my head fell out and two months later, i only have one tiny section in the back that doesn't have some kind of knottiness going on. just have patience and your hair will take over!
