Best "FUNKY" Modern band

    I'd say Parliment is the best, and Chili Peppers the second best.

    Hmm...well, I think the best band out of those is Phish. However, they're not really straight up funk. I love me some Les Claypool.

    I don't know how to vote.

    ummm....... what do you consider as modern????????

    best funk has to be prince. hands down. and then pfunk.

    and primus is NOT funk. I dont exactly know how to classify primus, but they are definitely not funk...... maybe a funk/metal/alternative hybrid.

    and phish is NOT funk either. nor are they "funky". maybe a few songs, but the rest of their catalogue is definitely not. its jazz hippy jam rock

    oh yeah Primus and Phish are not funk.

    P funk is the bomb. old Peppers were great funk (Blood Sugar Sex Majik primarily)

    I like red chili peppers, I guess they're pretty funky.

    P-Funk baby!... like others have already stated... Claypool is not funk.. and neither is Phish... they are both funky bands.. but not FUNK....

    Most of the above can funk it up, but are not funk. Grand Funk Railroad?????????????????

    How could anyone not appreciate the Chili Peppers though

    I find the Red Hot Chili Peppers are overrated. I find all their songs sound the same. And they all seem to be about California. :p

    yes, I've noticed that too. I stopped being interested in them after their second album sounded like their first, and thier third sounded like the first and second, etc, etc, etc....

    Yeah, they sing about Cali and Hollywood alot, but I like most of their music.
