As I was looking through this section I noticed that someone had mentioned Joe Pass.

Joe Pass and Oscar Peterson did some fine work togther. For example, in the early 702 there was The Good Life and The Trio. After this period Pass stepped out on his own. However, in 1977 they got back togther, The Pablo All-Star Jam----Montreux'77.

Kenny Wheeler's What Now? is a great drum-less quartet session featuring master bassist Dave Holland and the unfuckwitable saxophonist Chris Potter. It's funny how they can achieve such intensity while still sounding mellow and airy because of the lack of a drummer.
