If this is what the apocalypse feels like

then count me in.

Yeah, I don't even know how to explain today. We were cutting line through this ridiculous old growth forest and just hauling ass, knocking down big trees, it was all pretty awesome. Ridiculously hot out (we were on a streak) when all of a sudden it felt like a hurricane hit. Insane winds hit, snags were falling over left right and centre so we booked it out of there as fast as we could (it's pretty damn dangerous to be in the woods in those types of conditions). So we drive the hour back to the office, and the air just reeks like ozone. I start walking back, and a monsoon hits. I'm soaked to the bone in 20 seconds, decide to roll with it and take off my wool plaid coat and shirt and just walk the 4 blocks home feeling the stinging against me. It was electric. Get back to the house, and lightening starts hitting. I sat on the back porch with Drea (my roommate) smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee; lightening hitting ever 20 seconds for a good 20 minutes.

I don't know, I feel amazing right now. Going to go crank some Dylan downstairs in a bit, drink a few beers, curl up on the couch, and read my new Mordecai Richler book.

Man, I'm jealous. I was just thinking earlier today how I haven't experienced a thunderstorm this year! Not even a fucking heavy rain! I've always loved them, and in all honesty, I'm not sure I can continue living here if I'm never going to see another storm. Sheesh, we don't even get snow. How boring.

It's funny how sometimes you feel ten times more alive than usual. If only I could feel that way all the time.

 

But then you wouldn't know you felt more alive than usual, because you'd feel the same all the time and you'd keep wishing to feel more and more alive than you already do, probably resulting in some kind of galactic meltdown.... like heroin addicts

 

But, maybe you WOULD know that you're feeling more alive than usual (or before).

 

If that's the apocolypse, well, damn. I'm kind of excited.

I miss real thunder, too.
