heres a few newer protest songs that you guys should check out, they arent brand new but they are still good ones.............. **Beastie Boys - In a World Gone Mad "This song is not an anti-American or pro-Saddam Hussein statement. This is a statement against an unjustified war." * Spearhead - Bomb Da World "You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace." * Public Enemy - Son of a BushMore anti-Bush than anti-war, this song was first released in 2002. A protest of the US government under G.W. Bush, the song speaks to the anger many people feel over the war with Iraq.* Outkast - B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad) This song from the 2000 CD Stankonia is an angry lament about the price of war.
Check out System of a Down. But the first song that came to my mind was Dana Lyon's "A Drop of Water". You can find it on his page at cowswithguns.com i guess. Awesome song!
And yet another USA song. The record is of poor quality though :-/ http://grupa.times.lv/06-fuck_usa.mp3 lyrics here: http://grupa.times.lv/fuck_usa.txt pretty fun i like the lyrics too bad too many of you here are americans and don't see yourselves from aside
hehe, quoting myself! I would sure like to hear this song recorded properly! I find the lyrics nice (i think one might even if he would not agree with it).
I'd definitely like to add Ani DiFranco's "Self Evident" to this list.... http://www.righteousbabe.com/ani/l_self_evident.asp
Faithless are at it too... "With a long range weapon or suicide bomber Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction Whether you're stowaway's son or BBC 1 Dis-information is a weapon of mass destruction You could a caucasian or a poor asian Racism is a weapon of mass destruction Whether inflation or globalisation Fear is a weapon of mass destruction Whether Haliburton, Enron or anyone Greed is a weapon of mass destruction" Not the best song like.
