Okay, here's my situation, I'm a lead projectionist at a 7-plex movie theater in our small town. Well its the projectionists job to clean the theater for the next showing of that movie (and if any of you have ever seen how disgusting it can be to clean up after people after a movie, you know what I'm talking about.) Well we have a butt load of tourists in our town, especially during the summer, and I can recall countless situations where dumb ass people leave their wallets or purses after a movie, which I discover cleaning. Some of which have several hundred dollars inside. I was thinking to myself the other day, should I give myself a little tip? I mean like an amount no one would notice, or if they do, just flat out deny it, since no one sees me cleaning or nothin'. I always convince myself to put me in their shoes, and I always do the "right" thing and never take a thing. But what do you guys think?
What goes around comes around. Well done mate. If you are currently happy to give back the wallets, why change? The world needs more people who would give them back.
good on ya, i wouldnt keep the money. i used to work for a movie theater too and the only thing i would keep if i found would be a baggie of weed... id only find a baggie once in a while.
Nah I wouldn't keep the money. Turn it in and call the guy. Money's nice and all, but I wouldn't want to screw someone out of their vacation funds. I don't buy karma though. It just seems like the right thing to do.
If I See Someone Drop money or Leave Something behind... I Always Give the money to the Person...Or Inform them... In Your Situation...I Would Hand the Stuff in... I Would Think the Owners Would Come Back Looking...
ditto i think its good of the op to not take any money at all. itd be different if it was just on the floor, no wallet attached to it or anything, but taking it out of someon eelses belongings is just wrong (though if they dont claim their wallet after a month or so, wellll)
WHAA! you seriously found a bag of jane? lol I wish that happened over here, anyway yeah I figured I did the right thing and the wallets and purses usually have ID with them and we always get it back to the owner. I just wish some of that Karma would come my way lol
You did the right thing I lost my fiancees engagement ring in a theatre once and thank god someone like you found it!
It will one day, just be patient. Anyway, good for you for being honest. Because no matter how obnoxious some patrons are, it's very likely that purses and wallets are left not out of carelessness, but simply just forgetfulness.
I left my wallet once at a movie theatre. Well.. It fell out of my pocket. It had 300 bucks in it. Which was the money to get my truck out of the shop so I could go to work. Nobody returned it :-/ . Wish they would have though. I would more than likely give it back to someone if I found it. There really isnt many people that would. A small percentage I'm sure
