Hi. I'm a college student interested in Religious Studies. I was wondering if anyone could recomend any literature to me so I could get a baseline on Pagan religions. I'd like a book that a complete outsider to pagan customs and beliefs could understand. Sort of an all encompassed guide. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Best way to open your mind is mediation, drugs, start questioning everything in your life, etc... No book will answer your questions, you have to find them inside yourself But it's really really fun
One I like is: "Celebrate the Earth: A Year of Holidays in the Pagan Tradition" by Laurie Cabot. It had some basic information in it to get you started.
http://www.amazon.com/Wheel-Year-Magical-Llewellyns-Practical/dp/0875420915 A true classic in Wiccan style beliefs. Goes month by month. x
when trying to break the unknown hold of the masculine religio/political hold, i recommend "when god was a woman." it's a slight paradigm shift, and you have to read between the politico/feminist lines to a basic, simple understand that the god that designed the modern world may be male, but it was once much more egalitarian.
