Who here loves the Kings of Metal and Manliness, MANOWAR? \m/ You'd better, because you know what they say: whimps and posers, leave the hall!!
Haha, Yes! I know most people think their old stuff was their best, but honestly, I just can't get past the god-awful production. I mean sorry, but it sounded like complete shit, and I cannot listen to it. The Triumph Of Steel and Louder Are Hell are where I'm at.
YES! Triumph of Steel is awesome. But I like most of their albums even though some older songs are a bit too much glamrock-ish (like Animal). Vote in the poll.
There wasn't a poll earlier! I forgot about Sign Of The Hammer, that's third after the above mentioned albums for me. All men play on ten, man.
Yeah, I was still making it when you replied. It took me a while to find the right words (they turned out to be 'Metal' and 'Manly'). I haven't heard Louder than Hell yet but Sign of the Hammer is also very cool. It even reminded me of Bathory at some points (esp. Mountains).
Louder Than Hell has Return Of The Warlord, one of my favorite Manowar tracks. Also has a near-ten minute epic instrumental called Today Is A Good Day To Die, that I love.
Fuck Yes, ManowaR Rule! My fav is Into Glory Ride, but I really like all of the first 4 albums. I never thought they had bad production, but then again I listen to Black Metal. I just got the new ManowaR album that comes in a real metal case and is bound in real leather, could anything be more metal? And it's a great album too, much better than the last one.
I listen to black metal too, but bad production is a staple of the genre. Heavy metal shouldn't sound so thin and frail.
Hm... well I've been listening to mostly depressive music lately (fits my mood, really) and Manowar are a perfect antidote. Really uplifting, confidence-boosting music.
