My name is Sandra Edwards, and I recently joined for a second time (last time I forgot my password and didn't feel like doing whatever was necessary to get it sent to me or whatever). Anyway, like that really matters. My husband is a hippie by nature: believes in free love, TRUE equality of all people, and complete FREEDOM. He TOTALLY opposes any war, especially war against countries such as Iraq, since it really is none of our business. Anyway, he really wants to get into politics and hopes to run for President in 2012. He'll be old enough by then; he's 28 now. He wants to change everything back to the way it was when this nation was founded 228 years ago. He has become aware that there is no TRUE freedom of speech anymore; people have been arrested for protesting against abortion and other such issues. I'm sure everyone heard about the girl from the Dixie Chicks who simply stated her opinion-- she opposed the war against Iraq or Afghanistan or whoever we were fighting at that time-- and Bush made her apologize. Supposedly, if she didn't apologize, she was going to be arrested for treason. What is this world coming to? Hitler may have been insane, controlling, and prejudice, but there has recently been a movie out in Germany depicting him as a soft-spoken person rather than an overbearing lunatic. People want to say he was a bad leader, but isn't Bush doing the very things Hitler did? Trying to change the Iraqis way of life; calling people terrorists just because they happen to be Muslims. Fortunately, I will finally be old enough to vote during a Presidential election, so I can do my part to help get him out of office. But can we really be sure that Kerry will do a better job? I can't wait until 2012; my husband really would make a great leader as long as he can get into it instead of just having to debate me. I'm no expert on politics. All I know is that political leaders are liars, and my husband will change that "trend." He knows he may not be voted in if he tells the truth, but he wants to anyway to show people that not all politicians are liars. He has been in prison (that in itself may completely turn people off to the idea that he should be President) and plans to admit it in his political campaign ads and speeches. He plans to admit to all kinds of things that most would consider "bad." What did America do when Clinton said he tried marijuana but "I didn't inhale"? Everyone called him a liar. But if he had admitted to being a drug user, wouldn't they still have said something about him being a bad leader just because of that? People talked bad about Bush when records showed that he had been in trouble for drunk driving when he was younger, but people still want to act like he's a good leader. In my opinion, Clinton was better than Bush in many ways. Anyway, my husband needs petitions signed by like 10,000 or 100,000 people in each state (I forget what he said about that, but I'm sure someone who reads this will know). So, if anyone has any questions about his beliefs and ideas, e-mail me at smurfette_chick_99@yahoo.com him (Patrick Edwards) at icecycle76@yahoo.com or our joint yahoo account at nwmocouple@yahoo.com or contact us on our Yahoo Messenger nwmocouple or icecycle76 or burgundy_skye8301 or else on MSN messenger or e-mail thebullandthefish@msn.com Thanks everyone for taking your time to read this and we'll appreciate anything anyone can do to help. It will be nice to have an honest President like my husband for a change.

Best of luck to both of you!
It certainly is time for some change!
Just don't make everything exactly like it was when the USA was founded... there was no internet and our two countries had a bit of a spat.... :)

It won't be exactly the same as when it was first founded. People will be free to believe what they want, say what they want, stuff like that. I'm sure most people know about what happened when the girl from the Dixie Chicks stated that she opposed the war in Iraq: Bush demanded an apology and threatened to have her arrested for treason. That is not treason, everyone knows that. Anyway, people would be allowed to speak their minds about what's going on in this country, and if they wanted a change, my husband (if elected president in 2012) would at least look into it. It's time people wake up and look around. The government is becoming more and more controlling, and older adults are making things worse for us young people by allowing power-hungry hypocrites to lead our country. Where will this world go if people like "Dubya" and his father keep getting elected? I don't know about you people, but I see a World War 3 if we don't start fighting for our rights, and showing our leaders what is wrong with starting a war every time something happens. Bush claims to be a Christian, but the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill." It also says "Do not repay evil with evil; but overcome evil with good." And "turn the other cheek." Plus, I just saw on the news last night that Cheney was making a speech, and he said that if people "make the wrong decision at the polls, this country is at risk for more terrorist attacks." Doesn't that sound more like he's threatening us, than like he's telling us that he and Bush would do a better job than Kerry and Edwards? Sounded like it to me. So, if anyone can get like 100,000 people to sign a petition for my husband to run for president in 2012, e-mail us at the address(es) listed on my previous post. It would definitely help out! He would make a better president than we've had in the past few decades.

The 9/11 attack occurred while Bush and Cheney were in office. What is Cheney thinking?

Is no one going to help me by trying to get these petitions???? Come on people!!!! If you're true hippies, get off your butts and fight for your rights like you did in the 60s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband needs like 100,000 petitions from each state so he can run for Prez in 2012, and he wants to start ASAP so he's prepared for all the debates and speeches and stuff like that. Come on!!!! Join us to help our country get back to what it was supposed to be when it was founded!!!! Maybe some of you will even be part of his Cabinet or whatever in return for your help!!!!

If you want our support, tell us what your husband stands for, what he's going to change and how he's going to change it instead of bashing our current administration. I've heard the exhausted, overused anti-Bush slogans a thousand times, and I'm sick and fucking tired of them.

The way things are looking now, we'll be lucky if there is an election at all in 2012...

    Peace and Love,

That's not true. Bush never said anything about the matter. A bunch of Republican groups got mad, yes, but Bush himself never threatened her.

Now, if you really want us to take you seriously, tell us more about your husband--What kind of academic degrees does he have? Where does he stand on issues? What party will he be running with? Where will he get his campaign money? You can't just expect me to blindly sign a petition until you give me more information.

he would be against allowing any family services worker to investigate a situation someone reported unless that person had proof the family was abusive etc. he'd be like 'if you don't agree with my laws you can tell me why and fight to change them, live with it, or live somewhere else' and if pot and certain other things weren't legalized yet he'd do his best to make it legal; he's all for freedom of choice and that doesn't just include drugs; it includes every aspect of life. i'm not too good with this at the moment so if you need some specifics just ask and i'll do my best. thanks everyone! by the way he's going to be getting a settlement soon and invet it, bank things like cd's and whatever else. he'll use that for his campaigne. he has studied religion and mythology and law (not at school but in his spare time) so the only degree i'm aware of is in mechanics. he has had to study psychology as well. he almost had a certificate in electronics. sounds to me like you're not going to be interested unless he has proof that he is an expert in politics, so correct me if i'm wrong. who says he has to know all about this stuff? i'd rather have an amateur who supports freedom of all than a so-called expert who has been brainwashed that freedom=chaos and chaos=evil.

and i'm not sure on the party, but it will more than likely be the libertarian MAYBE democrat just to insure he makes it at least to election day (or help insure) but definitely not republican, as they are toooooooo conservative. one other thing is that he's totally against war and violence.

If he gets in, get rid of the Federal Reserve. That would solve so many problems.

I have been reading the posts on this page, and I don't want to sound insensitive, but all of you are intellectually lazy. No one bothers to read facts or valid information; it appears, however, to me at least, that all of you choose to be blinded by Leftist ideology. And your ideology acts as a mental straitjacket. It blinds adherents to reality, breeds fanaticism, and rationalizes dishonesty. It makes smart people stupid. Ideology provides a way for lazy people to respond to issues, ideas, people, and events without thinking. In the final analysis, you all aren't necessarily rigorous thinkers. You hate Bush so much that it clouds everything you do, say or think. You are all intellectual morons. And I say this with all the sensitivity I can muster, because I do want to be PC.

Please provide proof and site evidence where President George W. Bush was going to throw the Dixie Chicks in prison for treason. This did not happen. All due respect, you're a kook. If the President would have told the singer for the Dixie Chicks that she was going to be put behind bars, don't you think it would have been reported by ABC News, CBS News, CNN, FOX News, the "Washington Post"; the "New York Times"; the "Wall Street Journal"; MSNBC, CNBC and David Letterman? Please.
