Hi, my girlfriend is contemplating going on the pill, because she doesn't like the feel of condoms. I'm not bothered either way, although sex feels a lot better without them however i'd prefer to use them, if there could be adverse effects on my girlfriend. so are there many side effects from bc? shes 16, so i figured any bc wud be bad for hormone levels, although i've read here that u can get loss of appetite, or apetite gain, which is harmful in its self. So what are the possible side effects of BC?
Just off the top of my head: Weight gain, breast enlargement, extreme moodiness, weepiness, irritability, and depression. Many women do absolutely fine on the pill. Others are miserable. I'm STILL not over the effects of taking the pill for a few months, and I've been off of it for quite awhile now. I was a total train wreck. I have a friend with the exact same pill, and it does wonderful things for her. Some people need to experiement to find the right pill, and others just don't do well with hormones in general. There are a lot more people of the latter category than doctors would have you believe, but it's probably best to try it at least before dismissing it out of hand. It's very sweet of you to be concerned for her this way, by the way. It shows that you care, by you going and researching beforehand. Bravo to you.
